Got my bf a puppy

My husky is 16 years old, and only recently lost his twin brother. I hope your bf gives his new dog plenty of attention it deserves, exercises it regularly, and simply treats him as his best friend. If he does this for the dog's life, she will live as long as mine have.

Husky is one of my fav breeds. They look grumpy generally but cute nevertheless.

Cute dog, Georgiadude.

What a great present!

Thanks everyone.

he just called. apparently she is developing a shoe fetish. lol. she's not really chewing on them. She'll pick one up in her mouth and hide them throughout the house. lol. Still working on the name. He just can't seem to make a final choice. I didn't think it would be that difficult but it really is. I had an easier time naming my 2 children then we are naming this silly puppy. Oh well. I'll let you know when we decide. I hope to get some new pics this weekend.

Action commands, COME, SIT - are ALWAYS preceeded by the dog's name -- soooo.. practice names you're considering with those words together.

Sally Sit - is REALLY HARD TO SAY

good dog names are two syllables and end in a vowel !! yes, there are dog naming rules... just not everybody follows them!!

we had a dog named Shane - and it's relly hard to say SHANE SIT for 10-12 years !! there's no getting around it !!

i was gonna mention to pyometra - we almost lost a dog to that - although she was intact for breeding--she never was - then she got too old to spay - then she got ovarian cysts AND PIO !! it was not pretty ($800.00) but she made it thru it !

Thanks everyone.

Why not call her Shooba (she seems to like shoes)

Aww, it's so cute. But the eyes make it look pretty grumpy.

For the name: Sakura, Rei, Aero, Akai, Akiko, Puta ;), Kiko, Ami, and of course, one that always works: Doggy :p

Very cute puppy, I'm jealous. As for getting her "fixed", make sure to get here fix if you don't plan on breeding her. A common (and deadly) disease in intact female dogs is pyometra (google it). It's pretty nasty, and the vet bill is just as nasty, and can be easily avoided by a simple spay.

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure we will have it done. Def dont want to have to deal with a bunch of pups running around. We have enough on our plates as it is. Hoping to have a date night tonight. Hopefully we will get the name figured out. I made a list of over 60 names. Got some from you guys and most off of the net.

She's running around the house and is getting into everything. She doesn't handle steps real well yet. Thankfully that holds her mischief to 1 floor of the house. lol.

Have a great day everyone.

Steven.
