Yeah, most of these nominations are bullshit. How Leona Lewis was not nominated for Best New Artist and the frickin Jonas Brothers (who just released their third frickin album) were is beyond me! It's Steely Dan all over again!

The nominations are very suspect his year but you cant use the JBs to prove that because it doesnt matter how many albums they have done before.

The rules are you are eligible for best new artist if you first become known to the public on a large scale wothon the year of eligibility.


Noone knew them until last year into 2008 so thats why they are eligible.


But even that rule is bogus because they cheated Whitney Houston of a BNA nomination stating she was ineligible because she did a song two years before her debut album that got nominated for a Grammy; but noone knew who Whitney was then.

So according to their current rules Whitney should still have been eligible.

It would be unjust and insulting to the artist if he/she didnt win their individual genre category but there is precident for it.


The only one i know of is Grammys 2002. Absolute diaster of a ceremony.

Even concious rapper Common made mention of Indias shutout in a song he did, "at the Grammys they tried to India Arie me"


When India Arie got her leading 7 Grammy nominations i thought for sure that of all 7 she had already won Best R&B album. Why? Because no other R&B album was nominated for Album of the year.

I knew Alicia was groomed for Best New Artist by Clive Davis and whether she deserved it or not the academy should have spilt the awards between India, Alicia and Mary J Blige that year.


Since they were so inlove with Alicia fine give her best new artist and maybe record of the year for Fallin. However R&B song and R&B album and Best pop collaboration to India. And Mary should have gotten R&B vocal performance for NO MORE DRAMA. The pwoer and emotion that she puts into that song at every performance is WOW.

Alicia Keys should not have won 5 Grammys that night and def not R&B album.


In all reality and in all things that make basic logic if an R&B album is nominated for the best overall album of the entire music calender when no other R&B album is nominated then it stands to reason that you would clearly win your individual R&B category.

Inidas lyrics are so on another level, thought provoking not commercial fluff that Alicia tends to bark out.

Then after not giving her anything have her close the show out?



The Grammys felt like complete shit and gave India 2 Grammys the following year including R&B album.

Im not saying the album wasnt deserving but its clear to me they knew they fucked up and attempted to make things right but that alone couldnt do it.


India was a new artist that year and got 7 nominations.

Lil Wayne is not a new artist and got 8, so i feel that they indeed want to reward him for past snubs and as such logic will prevail and he will win best rap album not necessarily because it is the best but because Kanye isnt nominated this year lol.

I love me some T.I. but he should have won last year for T.I vs T.I.P. i dont feel Paper Trail is Grammy ready despite some stand out tracks.

That is not true and if you are lurking like you say you were you would see/read that many members on JUB, while they think little of Rihanna as an artist, highly commend Umbrella some even calling it a masterpiece; from the production to Rihannas delivery, it was just a gem of a track.


About your fact lol (some call it fact others call it hate); though i like "little miss sunshine Rihanna were you at" Umbrella would have still been the massive worldwide record breaking single that it was.

Many critics even said Jay Z's rap was unnecessary. Jay Z himself said he didnt wanna touch it at first.


Those same critics were predicting Umbrella to win Record of the year as well. They did "Should Win and Will win" and both should and will said Umbrella.

Song of the year they gave should to Rehab and Win to Umbrella.


But regardless it was a collabrotive effort and there is no I in team so take your mean spirited ass somewhere else talking about if it wasnt for Jay Z, bitch please.


Not only was it deserving of the rap/sung Grammy that year it was the Record of the Year not just in America but the world whether you dislike Rihanna or not.


Rehab might have been the song of the year but Umbrella was the record of the year and was deserving.

I wont say Umbrella was robbed the ROTY Grammy; but it sure was the record of the year and deserving.

It was just Amys year and as such they gave her almost everything.


Umbrella however had to get rewarded somehow and as such won for rap/sung.



Finally you continued to be a bitch by italizing "one" as if to belittle Rihanna.

Rihanna is only 20 and in 3 years has risen to the top of the music world and worked damn hard for her one Grammy. Im sure Rihanna would rather her one deserved Grammy than 5 Grammys she had no right getting in the first place.

I wont even get into PLEASE DONT STOP THE MUSIC or the snubs this year.


All Rihanna ever wanted was a Grammy and she got her one Grammy and is the happiest person in the world for it so congrats Rihanna on your one Grammy in a brief 3 year career thats just getting started lol.

I am able to focus solely on the music.

In 2002 the Grammys made it seem like Alicia was so superior to everyone else that year that they couldnt spread the wealth and just had to give her everything.


That was not the case. India is the truth and deserved some respect that night. AK was NOT deseving of winning in every single category she was nominated in. She was not superior in everyway to India. At the very least R&B album given hers was the only AOTY nominee. They said no AK is so much better that even though her album wasnt good enough to make Album Of The year like India lets still give it to her in R&B to hell with India because Alicia is our Queen.



Well my have the mighty fallen. She barely got anything this year when she could have gotten multiple noms and the nominations they gave her were fraudilent.

That James Bond music video is cheap and has nothing to do with the song yet they think its the top 5 best of the year? what a joke.

Those awards should have been split.

Even if Rihanna rightfully won for PDSTM she would still be a valid contender again next year for Disturbia.


PDSTM was the clear frontrunner last year but this year there is no frontrunner IMO so we shall see come Grammy night who rules the dance.
