Grand Theft Auto 5 sells $800 million on day 1

Watching porn often makes you want to have sex and people use it to masturbate. There is a correlation.

I'm guaranteeing that every mass murderer ate food within the 24 hours prior to his/her attacks. Watch out!! Correlation overload!!!

I remember playing the original version of this game with my 8 year old nephew a few years ago. I was shocked at the violence. I wasn't impressed that he was allowed to get the game. A disgrace and needs to be banned. No wonder society is so desensitised to such violence.

Sorry, but I'll never understand how killing someone in a game, tv show, or movie is entertainment or adds anything of value life.

If a person gets enjoyment out of that, I think they might get enjoyment out of torturing puppies and cats.

I didnt have any luck when making that video. The weather was dark and so I whipped up that video. GTA has so much gameplay and things you can do. Its not just a people killing game. It can be used as a drive simulator and it is much like life.

I came back from seeing my mom and played some GTA and Call of Duty

Videos to come . . .

Nope but I played Age of Empires II and III and Age of Mythology, and before that Command & Conquer and a few other lesser-known ones. Plus the amazingly wonderful Elder Scrolls III. ..|

So yeah I'm sure I've killed many many 'people' during my time but like I say it was in an escapist fantasy or battle scenario, and nothing so life-like as ordinary innocent people shot dead with a rifle or shotgun. Just not my thing, I find it way too unsettling and uncomfortable.

You liked Elder Scrolls III.

Are you married yet, Chickenguy?

You are SO onto something. Jack, you better post this in CE&P. Food linked to spree shootings.

I'm over 30, I'm not allowed to purchase this game if I choose because irresponsible parents might negligently whip out the credit card for a violent videogame unsuitable for their extremely young child? Do you apply the same argument to pornography? No wonder we have so much divorce. Look how desensitized people are to sex and lovemaking.

Have to say I'm --amazed-- at the Puritanism coming out on this porn site in this thread. What's on the book burning list?

Ding Ding Ding!! We've got a bingo. SURVEY SAYS!?

I'll never understand many things in life. Many people don't understand how men can be attracted to men. I think that's what humans like to call "differences of taste"

Youfiad, how many people did you PK on Napa Valley?

I think mine was probably around 100.

If society is desensitized to violence, it is not because of video games. Pls now, pls.

It's a lazy case of "let's blame it on every form of entertainment I personally don't like-- I don't play videogames, so they're to blame. But not movies, books, etc."

It is just one of many things that contribute. So it's part of the problem.

So why does it only contribute here and not in Japan, where they adore turboviolent video games?

Find another scapegoat. One that actually makes sense and has some more backing behind other than "tsk tsk, I don't like those smelly tasteless videogames."

Oh come on don't be coy. I'm sure all that time spent killing other people in those games at least contributed to your decision to murder people and animals.

What's the real number? 5? 50? Animal Apocalypse?

Training and inspiration for people who want to harm others. The game should be banned.
That's an odd remark coming from our resident right wingnut who supposedly is a constitutionalist, agrees with the first amendment, believes in smaller government, and preaches the second amendment by wanting anyone who wants an assault rifle to have one.

That isn't the way he works though. If the President made a verbal statement voicing his support of the 1st Amendment he'd be against it. That's how this works. ;)

I think I would have a harder time killing a cute animal than a crazy human :) Just saying> :grrr:

The mass murderer this week was hooked on violent video games. He played them for hours a day.

There is no magic one item solution to end violence .. doing away with violent games would be a start. No one will suffer if they are banned -- which I realize will never happen.

Is that why you hang out at a homosexual pornography forum every day?

You're acting sanctimonious. Stop it. No one's buying it.

Sorry, love. This is not your grandma's Republican party. Today's Republican party is NOT about small government, it's about "we hate things and want them gone". It's about the biggest possible government there is, as long as it only meddles in people's personal lives, but not in big business, cause that's sacred.

Jack, get a grip, get a life and get over it. Videogames are as much to blame for mass shootings as firefighters are to blame for fires...
