Grand Theft Auto IV

People who think this needs an AO rating mean that they want this game dead.

AO is the kiss of death because most stores do not and cannot sell AO games.

I haven't played this yet. I am not really into GTA series but I know how much fun they are. I had the PSP version and that kicked ass.

The way GTA works is everyone is hyped up about it and you will never understand what the big fucking deal is until you buy it. You have to force yourself to buy it until you tell yourself "OH SHIT THIS IS COOL!"

And once you play it you think it's fun. No one knows why the hell it's fun. But it is. I think it taps into human instincts or something :D

But yeah it is addicting. I prefer Unreal Tournament over GTA any day though. I WANT UT3 FOR 360 TO COME OUT SOON. THE PC VERSION IS HARD TO GET TO WORK BECUASE VISTA REALLY SUCKS AND NOT IN THE GOOD WAY :(

It's fun because it lets you have tremendous freedom, the cars are cool, the characters are interesting, the music is excellent, the radio talk is funny, the side shows are hilarious, it's fun to be violent without any real human getting a scratch, the story is decent, need I say more?

I felt that way about the show '24'. I wondered why it was getting awards. Whats the big deal? I started watching and I was hooked. I love the show.


I just got back from buying some games and I bought the GTA 4 manual. It was $21, which I thought was cheap.


There is so much you can do in the game. I spent alot of time sitting on a building top and shooting rpg down at the traffic. It was fun. After the game is done, you can still do so many things.
 
Im PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The stupid woman I bought the xbox 360 from told her delivery man twice to send the xbox by Xpresspost (which is extra money).
I expected to get the console Money or Tuesday.

She wrote me and her dumb delivery man sent it by regular post. Thats 8 business days before Ill get it.

I told her I wanted all my postage money back and if she had a problem with that, take it out of her delievery man's pay

I have 7 games (+ 2 in the mail) sitting here. Grrrrrr!!
 
Anyone know if there's any Gay content?

Liberity city has to have a gay street with some gay hookers or what not. No gay bars?

I wouldn't be suprised if they had this. Anyone know?

The game has alot of gay content. You can even attempt to date other men by hooking up on the internet, but they will all turn you down. Except on one mission where you must act gay and take a gay guy on a date . . . and then kill him of course.

The television has some funny gay content. As does the radio, and the internet. Several other characters you meet in Liberty City are gay.

But if you are looking for gay hustlers, sorry.

I just got x360. I played GTA4 and saved as under the name 'm1000'

Just now, I set up Xbox live account and 'm1000' was taken so I signed up as 'm 1 thousand'

I went to go online (GTA4). I have the game save profile (m1000) and xbox live name (m 1 thousand)

Is the username for GTA4 suppose to be the same as your xbox live gametag?

I baffled the guys at Xbox when I called them. I guess I have to re play GTA4 fior the four hours I played.


The destination arrows. What the hell were they thinking? Its hard to see the arrows


I was on the beach and killed cops on a cliff. They tumbled done. It was funny
 
Im on the final mission.

This game has been easy. Ive never finished a game in 2-3 weeks. Im not a video savant so I have 80 hrs of game play

I just found out that every time I have been dialing in the cheat numbers and I could have been using the cheats option on the cellphone. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!

Personally, I would give the game a 9 out of 10. No way it is a 10 out of 10 with those damn destination/mission arrows being so light and stuff they didnt keep in the game.

if you havent aimed at the ground with the rpg and pulled the trigger, give it a try.
 
I finished the story last weekend. I gave it a 9.5. While this game's production values smokes every other game, the main criticisms I have which prevent it being a 10 are:
1. The friend system is a bit flawed. Your friends keep nagging you to take them out, but there's not enough variety of activities to do with them to keep this feature fresh or fun. And you have to take them out if you don't want to risk losing their perk.
2. It has the same pesky save system that I always disliked in the previous GTA games. If you fail a mission, it loads from the very beginning. The bad part is if the mission starts with you having to drive across the city first, when it reloads you have to do all that driving again. Unless you take a taxi.
3. And again like previous GTA games, the shooting while driving system is tedious. Even though they changed how it works, it still doesn't work well. And you can't autotarget while driving like you can on foot.

Aside from those pains, I think Rockstar hit another one out of the park.

To DotComGuy about not being able to see the destination arrows, did you play this on HD? I did and I thought the arrows were plenty clear enough. And it doesn't really matter, because with the new GPS system (which is a fantastic addition to the game), it tells you when you are at your destination.
 
No, i didnt play on HD. I dont think the gps helps for that aspect. I can be at the destination, do a 360 and not see the arrow. That didnt happen in San Andreas.

Driving is fun but having to drive back to a mission is tedious. I get a taxi to take me there.

My fav thing to do is perch on a building and shoot rpg at traffic. Its not so easy to do when there is no jetpack


Ive only seen three pidgeons. I realise now that they are highlighted in red but , from a distance, I thought it was a weapon . . . that coo'ed
 
I finshed.

I forgot to say the audio was great. I thought police sirens and ambulances. It sounded like it was outside my place.

I went to put some trash out and the phone rang. I went to get it and realised it was from the game ;-)
 
Going back to gay content. I had said there was none because I typed in gay at this forum and there were no results.

I realise now that the word 'gay' is not allowed to be used on the forum and thats why there was no seach results

The Florian storyline waas stereotypical but it also sent out a message about acceptance. Nico wasnt mean to Florian because he was gay and he helped Florian get back at the blackmailers

Florian's apartment was funny. There were paintings of gay images. A painting that looked like a Tom of Finland cop

Multiplayer is fun . Im 'm 1 thousand'
 
Florian (Bernie) was hilarious. One of the funniest characters in the game, and yet one of the deepest. Although I agree that all of the gay material in GTA is based on stereotypes. But then again, comedy has always been a big part of GTA games. Rockstar stereotypes everybody with their satirical humor. Much like Southpark in that regard.
 
Wow you guys are fast. I've never beaten, for lack of trying but this one I'm taking my time so it lasts.

DotComGuy I did the same thing over and over only fortunately for me, I haven't finished the game so I realized there is a cheat menu early on.

Qixote the phone and friend system is the thing that bugs me most about this game. Just like in real life you get people calling you all the time that you don't really want to talk to. The phone must ring every 2 minutes. It bugs the hell out of me.
