Granny yells Socialist as Obama enters eatery

Right Right bcuz Obama supporters never say anything inflammatory about McCain or Palin? You guys are so quick to say Obama isn't a Socialist yet I'd bet 1000 bucks not 1 in 20 of u have read the Communist/Socialist manifesto. How can you defend that Obama isn't of Socialist ideals if you don't even know what Socialism is?
Communism and socialism are NOT the same thing. Marx and Engels only wrote about communism, NOT socialism.

^ You're just baiting people with your stuff about poverty and choices.

Obviously, in some cases, that's right. But in many others it's not.

The real mindset is one's attitude to giving a hand up to people whether they deserve it or not.

And, from what I read, that's hard wired into you or not, as the case may be.

As far as the strong giving to the weak, I'd say that is a debate for philosophy. I am one who thinks if you let your heart bleed too much for others you will have no blood left for yourself.

You guys always think that there are only two choices.

Letting your heart bleed, as you call it, doesn't mean you have to let it bleed out.

Yes and no.

Yes, with one candidate who looks presidential, acts presidential, talks presidential, and has the kind of support you'd expect an incumbent to get (that would be Obama) and one candidate whose supporters become aggressive and nutty as soon as their man lags just a few points in the polls, swing voters may come to see Obama as the safe choice and McCain as a risk.

But no, I've watched so many of these scenes already that I think the independent-minded voters have already seen the pattern some time ago.

You do know what incumbent means, don't you? That can't be Obama, I'm sure you're aware of that and it was an honest mistake.

It would not be fair to single out McCain supporters as being "aggressive and nutty" because we've all seen in these threads that it holds true for both sides. By the way, just because a candidate "looks presidential, acts presidential, talks presidential" and dances well with Ellen on tv doesn't guarantee that he could effectively run a country. Pretty sure you know that since you've "watched so many scenes already."

If he is elected he'll be called much worse over the next 4 yrs. People luv to exercise their free speech.

Once again, only two choices.

Free speech or no free speech. Crazies being allowed to yell in restaurants and crazies not being allowed to yell in restaurants.

Try exercising your free speech rights by yelling in a restaurant at Dick Cheney. LOL.

Why is she crazy tho? Isn't calling her crazy just an attempt to diminish possible validity to her charge? We didn't see her face, we know nothing about her xcept she called him a socialist to his face. That is pretty brave if you ask me. If he really was a socialist he cud have her killed if he gets elected JK.
You know, I might understand your posts a lot better if you explain to us exactly what you think socialism and communism are. Because I have a feeling that you have a very flawed understanding of both ideas.

What he said.

Granny seems pretty tame, compared to the call/yell outs of the Hollywood crowd, that supports Obama.

Granny seems pretty tame,compared to the American hater(Jeremiah Wright) call/yell outs(in fairness to Obama,he denounced Rev.Wright 20 years later....#-o

Granny seems pretty tame compared to the call/yell outs of Obama supporters on jub....

Granny seems pretty tame, compared to the call/yell outs of members and supporters of Obama....on The Huffington Post...The Daily Kooks....The Dimocratic Underground....

I say...GO GRANNY! Tell it like it is .....:=D:

She also seems pretty tame compared to the people calling for Obama to be killed or calling him a terrorist at McCain rallies. ;O

She did NOT say it to his face, she didn't walk up to him calmly and speak to him, she was a coward and screamed from across the restaurant. That's not heroism, it's obnoxious bullying.
I agree! At least Joe the wannabe plumber had the courage to speak with Obama face-to-face. The fact that he wasn't entirely forthcoming has been beaten to death on JUB and I'll just leave it there.

Priceless comment on the video:

i suspect her problem may be that she cant afford proper health insurance and suffers from a mental disorder that she cant afford to cope with in a civilised manner.

Even though Obama's "spread the wealth" remark was not intended to be socialist, it was a poor choice of words. I really can't blame McCain supporters for using this as easy ammunition.

McCain's all for spreading the wealth himself. He approved of the $700 billion bail out just like all the others. If that's not spreading the wealth, I don't know what is.

Yep, and that will be driven home from now until Election Day. I'm hoping this remark doesn't cost him the Election, because McCain supporters certainly aren't going to let the public forget he said it.

^ Obama's 'spread the wealth' doesn't match his 'clinging to guns and religion' remark but it was close.

I'm shocked, appalled and saddened that the U.S. Constitution allows Americans to shout socialist in a crowded restaurant.
Its protected speech under the First Amendment. We're not allowed to yell 'fire' in a crowded theater or call 'B52' in an Iraqi bingo hall. ;)

I agree ..|

It's sad ignorance, but she has her right. Maybe people agree with her (clearly shown in this thread) and they have their right too.

And this is exactly what you'd expect to hear from a Democrat.

It's what you'll hear from this Libertarian, too: she can yell any bloody thing she wants so long as it doesn't become a public disturbance.

It's nice to see there are some Americans with balls; most people I've ever met wouldn't even mutter it loud enough for someone in the same booth to hear.

Yeah, it's not like "spread the wealth" sounds like "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" or anything. For those blinded by Obama's holy aura, that's Karl Marx.

It sounds like it, to those who want it to.

I'm not sure what u mean by that. The gov't investing in someone's education to me will result in that person making more money and thus paying more in taxes. Maybe one of the economy experts on here can say if it Socialism?

If Obama can't take a few slurs what is he doin running for prez? At least they aren't calling him a terrorist anymore.

If you got grant money, it's a kind of socialism. If you got guaranteed loans, it's tweaked capitalism. If you got both, it's very American.

fact is, this loud obnoxious, irrelevant bitch is screaming at the top of whats left of her lungs in a small cozy and possibly family owned restaraunt where other people trying to enjoy a meal did not pay to hear her fucking mouth.

They probably didn't pay to have a presidential candidate show up, either.

Let me just say that if someone calls me a Socialist, I'd take it in stride, because it's a government system that works to eliminate the class system and make everyone equal in power. Now, if someone called me a Stalinist, I'd knock their fucking lights out.

Socialism is NOT an evil government system. To call it that based on the most famous leaders is like saying that the US is a corrupt government based on Nixon and Bush.

So can we stop with this bullshit.

Obama's no more a socialist then McCain is a war profiteer.

Not that I'm losing total faith in Obama's seemingly sure-shot win. But I am afraid this socialist thing will cost him some pre-election points, bringing this race closer like it was before the financial crisis started a few weeks ago. It may be that yesterday's Colin Powell endorsement is the only thing that saves him from an upset.
