USAT/Gallup Poll: Paul Ryan gets low marks for VP

Wah, wah, wah... apparently Paul Ryan's first impression on voters is the worst among VP candidates since Dan Quayle (that, for the record, means Sarah Palin had a better first impression). Guess the Romney bunch has some work to do on the campaign trail sprucing up his public image... and we know how good they are at doing that sort of thing...

Once again, your infatuation is glossing over the fact that the ticket is for Mitt Romney, not Ryan, will be actually taking the job as president and running the country. Furthermore, Ryan's cheerleading of the GOP budget from last year is a disaster of a budget that has been highly scrutinized by the Associated Press over the last few days. Even Mitt Romney is distancing himself from the ideals Ryan outlines in the budget.

If you actually believe that RobMe doesn't believe in the Ryan budget, I have a bridge near Battery Park in Manhattan that I'll sell you...and I'll throw the Tampa Bay Causeway in for good measure. Presidential candidates ALWAYS choose Veeps who fall in line with their beliefs, or who they feel may patch a weakness that the Presidential candidate has. RobMe does NOT believe he has any weaknesses, he believes he is invincible...certainly he picked Ryan because Ryan's HEADLINER - the "Ryan Budget" - is RobMe's wet dream. (It can be argued that Paul Ryan is "hot" so he might be somebody else's wet dream as well, hahaha.)

RobMe's pick of Ryan does, INDEED, confirm all that we thought we knew about his own evil intentions, and more.

I never thought that I'd long for the days when Al "Chainsaw" Dunlap was the most evil exploitation-styled capitalist out there, after he gutted Sunbeam and threw its carcass into the rubbish bin. Dunlap was a piker and a small player compared to what has been happening nearly across the board in multinational corporations in this new Millennium.

If this Double-R ticket goes down in flames faster than The Hindenberg, I will **not** be lamenting "Oh, the humanity!" No, not at all.

Thats ok

The demonization of Ryan started early and often by our fearless leader who would rather demagogue than govern - can't allow a narrative about the current economic sitch dontcha know

That wouldn't be ....... Prudent ;)

"he's dangerous" is my personal fav

"Wah Wah" is Pretty funny

Loved Axelrod with the comparison to Palin

It's sad that the President is so cynical

Well to some it is

FREEDOM !!!

And I love to say and type

Katrina vanden heuvel ;)

So I guess we can expect a frantic flood of Ryan-love threads from the desperate Republican partisans over the next little while.

I love the neurotic honeymoon period. The announcement on a battleship, the bus tour, the bussed in crowds of supporters. The first week or so of a candidate's campaign once the VEEP choice has been announced is always a lot of fun. The happy couple gets lots of pics kissing babies and eating ice cream and then.......thud...........once the media have milked the euphoria, then comes the process of vetting the candidate on the 24/7 news cycles.

It will be interesting to see what unfolds as the substance of Romney/Ryan begins to be viewed more critically. It has already started, of course.

The Ryan budget is going to be one of the greatest liabilities ever dragged into a campaign. And that includes the disastrous choice of Palin in '08.

One time that I can hope for an EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!

This could even make Texas a toss-up.

All this said, November 6 is **NOT** a date (or, where early voting is available, or for absentee balloting, the time leading up to and including November 6) to become COMPLACENT and just assume that "George will do it" and help get your choice into office.

At least Ryan diverted attention away from Romney's tax returns for the moment.

He's the least popular pick since Dan Quayle. Bigger disapproval ratings than approval.

Didnt see your concern about anti Ryan threads - so many working

Missed that outrage

LOL

Well Chance regardless of how Smart Paul might be. Reagrdless of the countless times he tries to explain away Medicare, Social Security and Food Stamps, Seniors and The Poor will probably vote obama's way...

I NEVER would have thought Mitt would have selected Paul....It was a Gamble and the fact that Paul is READY for the job as Veep means nothing...He Fucked himself with that plan to Gut & Nutt all over the Elderly & The Poor...

Obama is winning voting Blocks one by one and the ODD part is the Republicans are handing each voting Block to him on a Silver-platter....

Forty-five percent of Americans view Ryan as a “fair” or “poor” choice, while just 39 percent think he is an “excellent” or “pretty good” pick. He's a mixture of Sarah Palin and Dan Quayle. Remember how they boasted what a great pick Palin was?

It's really sad that a mathematically incompetent objectivist misogynist is what passes for an "intellectual" in Republican circles. His contribution to policy debates: proposing a massive wealth transfer from the poor to the rich in the name of "fixing" the economy.

Counting all your money cloud your thinking Mitzy? You'd better hang on to it because you'll still be unemployed come November.

what u couldn't get male cheerleaders? ;)

here's Paulie giving noogies to Debbie Wasserman Schultz - kudos to her for .......... "showing up" which appears to the bar here ;)

That'll be like watching a train, a boat, a plane and a space shuttle collide at the same time.

Biden will own Ryan, and its simple to do. Im not gonna advertise to my GOP 'friends' how it will happen, but the GOP is even beginning to realize that Ryan was a horrible choice.

Well that settles it ;)

Once in a while you might want to back up your partisanship with something other than your hunch

Palin did well with Biden 4 years ago

I'd be a little nervous if I was Joe

another long night? tossing and turning? ;) worried about the US Election and the cost of fashion in NYC ? ;)

here's Paulie with David Gregory crystallizing the contraception issue that Dems want to demagogue

with nancy pelosi (as a bonus) and all her silliness intro-ing

only if he could put his "wicked smaat" talent to work for the good of the people instead of being an evil slimy snake out to make the middle class poor and the poor pooer, and of course, the rich RICHER. What good are "smaat's" if you waste them on evil crap.
