My votes:

This Mess We're In, Thom Yorke and PJ Harvey
Ignore the video... it's the best I could find...

Where the Wild Roses Grow, Nick Cave and Kylie Minogue

Henry Lee, Nick Cave and PJ Harvey

The Sound of Silence, Simon and Garfunkel

Help Me Make it Through the Night, June Carter and Johnny Cash

Noone has mentioned Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers!

and Kids by Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams, it's such a sexy song, and it's so fun to sing along.

funny fact: at the kylie minogue concert when she sung this a black female back up singer sung the robbie parts and the backup singer sounded so much like robbie it wasn't funny!

Simon and Garfunkel!

Good thinking! I never think of their songs as duets, which of course they are.

I would've killed to hear Karen Carpenter sing a duet with David Gates of Bread.

Sigh.

You hit the nail on the head Unforgettable was just so perfect!!!!!!!!
My other favorite is Endless Love by Diana Ross & Lionel Richie

Wow, I thought I was the only one who ever thought about a duet between Karen Carpenter and David Gates...

She did make two duets, outside of her performances with her brother Richard.

She performed a medley of songs with Ella Fitzgerald. The song was released on the final Carpenters album "As Time Goes By.'

And on her solo album, she performed "Making Love in the Afternoon" with Chicago's Peter Cetera. But his voice is mostly in the chorus, as opposed to singing individual verses.

Here's a few of my favorite duets:

Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman - Time To Say Goodbye

Billy Preston and Syreeta - With You, I'm Born Again

Michael McDonald and Patti LaBelle - On My Own

'The Prayer' is an awesome song! I love Andrea but I prefer Celine singing it with Josh Groban. I would love it if Celine recorded it with Anthony Callea.

Some of my favorites:

Timeless - Kelly Clarkson & Justin Guarini (from the floptacular "From Justin To Kelly", but it's a fantastic song)
Count on Me - Whitney Houston & CeCe Winans (It makes me wanna cry, and they compliment eachother so well)
Whenever You Call - Mariah Carey and Brian McKnight (You can't even tell that it was originally a solo song from Mariah)
My Boo - Usher & Alicia Keys (They sounded great together)
The Boy Is Mine - Brandy & Monica (It was cool to see these 2 sing together)
I'm Your Angel - R. Kelly & Celine Dion (Very unlikely pairing, which makes it sound good IMO)
A Whole New World - Peobo Bryson & Regina Belle (The harmonies sound incredible)
I Just Can't Stop Loving You - Micheal Jackson & Siedah Garrett (They both sound similar, so they naturally blend together)
Unforgettable - Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole (Breathtaking, for so many reasons)
Over & Over - Nelly Featuring Tim McGraw (Totally unlikely duet, which makes it unique)

Steve Nicks & Don Henley - Leather & Lace

Tina Turner & David Bowie - Tonight

Willie Nelson & Rob Thomas - Maria (Shut Up & Kiss Me)

Willie Nelson & LeAnn Womack - Mendocino County Line

Ann Wilson (Heart) & Robin Zander (Cheap Trick) - Surrender to Me

.... just off the top of my head ....

Stevie Nicks & Sheryl Crow- "(Are You Strong Enough) To Be My Man"

Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty- "Stop Dragging my Heart Around"

Stevie Nicks & Kenny Loggins- "Whenever I Call You Friend"

Stevie Nicks & Don Henley- "Leather and Lace"

Stevie Nicks & Sheryl Crow- "Sorcerer"

Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty- "I Will Run to You"

:D
