Does anybody watch this show? It's pretty interesting, and the characters all seem pretty realistic.

I applaud the fact that they put a gay character in, but his personality is getting a bit annoying, with the overtly anti-heterosexual stuff.

Anyway, anybody else watch this?

I kinda hate to admit it but I watch it too. Its a little overkill on some of the sterotypes but overall it is pretty realistic.

I like it. Love me some "Kyle XY" too. It's good that they're together. ABC Family is really broadening their horizons. And I totally wanna go to a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" dance, that was hot!

the gay guy has never been anti-hetersexaul.

i love the show too. very good. i love the main character Rusty, he is soo cute.

I like this show. I love the slacker, Cappy--totally hot. I agree with BlackWolf--Rusty is too cute. He has that wide-eyed, innocent look that I think is so adorable.

i just went to go watch last night's episode on abcfamily.com but it wasn't up yet...but the new Kyle XY was...i don't understand how they update that thing haha

I knew I recognized the girl that plays Casey on the show and I checked IMDB last night...it's Spencer Grammer...Kelsey Grammer's daughter.

I do love this show though....I was so happy for Rusty making out with LonelyGirl15 haha

OMG i just realized it was lonelygirl15. i knew i saw her in something else

Tee hee, I didn't notice that until you said something either. I don't know if it's quite realistic (since I've actually been in a Fraternity...), but it's the closest I've seen.

Either way, I like the show. I liked the guy that the black guy is going to go on a date with! See folks, black/white relationships DO exist! And with hotties too! This gives me hope...

this show is so good. rusty is adorable. i love all the characters. the only one i could do without is rusty's weird roommate.i wish college was really like this. i like all the girls too. and the portrayal of the gay character is great. prolly the first of its kind.

I'm addicted.

Part of it is because I really identify with Rusty. I was in the honors Engineering group during my undergrad years. His wide-eyed innocence is sooo adorable!

The gay guy's date was really cute too!

I'm really happy that the show is addressing the real issues, not just skirting over them.

And of course, I'm still addicted to Kyle XY. I'd love to do Matt Dallas and Chris Olivero (Declan), maybe even at the same time!

Great show.. but why is there only one African American male on the show?? And to top it off they cast him as a closet gay male. You know how the African American community will feel about this.. they always cast the African American as a flawed character with some type of "issue"

The African American has the least interesting storyline as well..needs to be expanded more. Because its not as interesting as the other whites on the show.

I find myself saying this to too many people on this board.

SHUT UP!!!! The gay character is fine. And I thought you would like him being gay. It's not some tall, tan, muscled white guy playing the gay guy. It's not some flaming queen black guy, and he is smart, intelligent, and human.

ALL the characters have flaws. Rusty has a lot of them and guess what, he is a white character on the show. You are so annoying with trying to find racism at every turn. There is no racism here, and no one is mad the black guy is a in the closest gay guy. Your the only one, and you will be the only one.

plus...it's only like 5 episodes into the series....let characters develop a bit before you make so much fuss about something like that.

there isnt even anything to fuss about. all the characters are done beautifullly.

WOW.. Calm down Mr. Wolf. No need to get upset. Why shout or scream?? Unless you are upset that I'm pointing out the obvious.

Now I do agree with you... this character is not some flaming queen, and he is smart and intelligent. Plus he is African American, and not some generic gay white guy. So I guess my post was little harsh, and the show needs to be on the air a little bit longer.

But what I was pointing out in my post are the heterosexual African American audience who will see this as "the white guy" always casting the black guy as a "flawed" character. He either has to be gay, a thug, and etc. Guarantee you will see that complaint on an African American dedicated website.

Love the show. The scenes between Cappy and Evan are great, as well as Cappy and Rusty.

I am happy with the Calvin storyline. He's comfortable with his sexuality (as is his parents, which is very refreshing considering the dad is big on sports and such....just not expected from such a dad). The fact that he was the star hockey player, is black, and gay, I don't know....I didn't expect ABC Family to step outside the stereotyping range. I do understand him wanting to keep his sexuality private, because once it is disclosed for public knowledge, that seems to be the only thing people focus on. I'm grateful that he hasn't pulled the race card, like so many of my friends do, and most of the time its over insignificant things.

Damnit, I'm rambling again. Anyway I love the show (!)

The main reason for "yelling" at you is that you seem to find a reason to play the race card, regardless of its applicability. If you were slamming the show for the lack of black characters, that would at least be applicable. However, by pointing out that black character is the "stereotype", you're ignoring the fat white geek, the goofball Freshmen, the white party guy, and even the caring yet condascending sister....If you really want to be a jerk about it, you can point out that any character is a stereotypically flawed character, so it's annoying at best to concentrate on just one character as the stereotype, and basically racist to look at just one character due to that character's skin color.

Also, diplomacy is not one of your better skills; you're pointing out that being gay is a character flaw on a pro-gay forum...
