Grey's Anatomy

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

Funny and good for him, but in all likelihood this will be his only main character part.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

the last scene in the elevator reminded me of when Merideth passed away for a moment and reconnecting with some characters that passed that affected her life including the recent passing of the mother only to be revived. I think this is something similar and Izzy will be returning.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

I cryed my eyes out i mean i was just bawling on the last like 5 mins. OMG

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

I just read ew.com's interview with Shonda Rhimes about the finale and the whole season really. She said the "underwriting" of George was all building up to this episode, she wanted people to be shocked that it was him and intentionally hasn't shown him a lot so this episode wouldn't look any different to the viewer that he wasn't really in the second hour. She says T.R. has never expressed anything to her about wanting to leave the show.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

Izzy's entire storyline was the reason I enjoyed this season so much...along with Bailey and Torres' storylines.

I was expecting her to die...she always had quite a low change of surviving the cancer so...not surprised there but I always had a small hope they'd keep her alive. Anyway, it's really sad to see her go. She was one of the best characters on the show.

The George thing was shocking to me. I was like "WHAT?!? NO WAY!!!".

I think it was a solid finale. Maybe not the best but it was good nonetheless.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

besides the three episode arc when Meredith almost drowned - the last two episodes were strong - nice seeing Yang show some emotion

LOL, it was funny and cute, she's always so robotic. She was like. "I luh.....luh....luh......luh.....love...is that how they say it? I looooove...I looooove you."

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

Best part was when George wrote "007" on Meredith's hand, the look on her face when she realized was gut wrenching.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

So, it seems like more of a series finale than a season finale. Everything is relatively resolved - Alex/Izzie married, she died. George died. Callie has Arizona now, Eric is with Lexi...he's finally found stability, Grey is with Derek - finally married. Bailey is divorcing, yet seeking another position she's always wanted. Oh, and Hunt/Cris are giving it a go. There's been a resolution to every character conflict.

I don't think there is really anymore to it.

I thought Bailey said she WASN'T going to seek the position since she's a single mom now.

"I'm going to be a single mom now, it's not the time for new specialties."

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

^ I got the same thing, that Bailey was NOT taking the position (and still getting a divorce)
Overall, excellent episode!!! When Meredith realized it was George, that was painful to watch, but I think the scene where Bailey was telling the chief about her getting a divorce stole the show.... that was INCREDIBLE acting on her part!

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

I recall Katherine Heigl compiling about the fact that her character wa not being given any substance and she was unhappy with the way the writers handled her. Well she sure must have gotten their attention based on the great story line she was given. It also helped Justin Chambers whose charactor also grew in theses last episodes, he showed off some pretty decent acting chops.

I thought it was a well written and acted finale, the two hours just flew by.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

^lol
George got to do an appendectomy his first day of work but froze up so all the interns called him 007.

i was kind of getting bored of the finale, until that moment when he wrote on her hand.
thats when the tears starting rolling. god i cried so hard during the last few minutes it was ridiculous. i dont even know if ive cried that hard about something in my life lol

but pretty sure that K.H. said that she wouldnt object to being killed off but she would stay on the show if they let her live...so pretty sure she's good. and besides that whole elevator seen, it was pretty obvious she was gonna go "back down the elevator"
but idk for sure.

it didnt help that the fricken music was so depressing. jesus, i hate when they do that lol

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

If George and Izzy are both dead, why does she see him in the elevator in an army uniform? He didn't die that way and she'd never seen him that way. Why would she have an afterlife experience like that?

As for 007, I don't think the reference was to the appendectomy, at least not directly. That happened so long ago, who would really remember? There was another 007 reference I think in part 1, but I don't remember what it was.

For me, the whole episode was pretty forgettable.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

I think the 007 had something to do with who was the first intern to kill a patient or have a patient die on them.

And you are right Dr. Beat, I didn't understand why George was in uniform. I understand he was about to join the army and everything, but he hadn't done anything yet.

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

I use to really love Izzie, but I've let Katherine Higel's actions influence my opinion of her character. I just can't get passed how she dissed the writers when she withdrew her name from Emmy consideration last year because she felt wasn't given good enough material. I'm predicting she leaves the show, has two moderately successful movies, and then is never heard from again. Sadly, I don't think T.R. Knight is going to get much work after he leaves....

Re: Grey's Anatomy Season Finale

Not really, since his character has appeared a handful of times and she's come to accept it is over with.

Legal conflict, sure. Something worth writing an entire season about on a medical show? No, not really.

Depends. Divorce proceedings are always long and drawn out and may take a toll on her character next season, on top of single motherhood. These writers LOVE dramatics so I doubt she's going to be coming into work singing "I've Got Confidence In Me."
