I had to cook something exotic the other day for our in-house Come Dine with Me competition.
I did crostini with rocquefort cheese and thin slivers of ripe pear (use a potato peeler to shave slivers off the pear) spread on it, garnished with chopped roasted hazelnuts and drizzled in a small amount of melted dark, good quality (70%) chocolate.
You would not believe how amazing it was.
