when you bbq/grill, do you use gas or charcoal?

the few times i get to do it, i use a gas grill...

I don't really know how to grill on gas. Charcoal is easier, but I prefer Mesquite!

I use a gas grill. Being a vegetarian, I did not want a huge BBQ, so I bought a stainless steel grill that was designed for yachts.

My favorite thing to grill is corn. Put the corn cobs in foil, spread butter and sprinkle some fresh rosemary. Grill until done. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn It.

I Sell propane and propane accessories. When you cook with sweet mother propane you taste the meat and not the charcoal.

LoL

Sorry I went a little HANK HILL on you there. But to anwser your question I use propane just because its cleaner (fuck the enviroment, its just easier to clean up and change the tank)

I have both types. For a quick steak, or burger or hot dogs, its gas and my grille is natural gas not propane. Natural gas is hotter and I have to lower the grill

Fot anything else that would take longer to cook it is charcoal all the way. It cooks better and the flavor is way better also.

Mine is attached to the natural gas line on my house. No tanks, no mess, no charcoal.

One thing that I would love is a wood fired pizza oven but they are so dang expensive and they take up a lot of space.

Due to some goofy law/ordinance in DC/VA, we can't have a gas grill. We have an electric grill...and believe it or not the thing actually works pretty awesome!!

Goodness! Ordinances against any kind of grilling here in Texas would be... Un-Texan! The right to grill is almost as paramount as the right to keep a rifle in your truck. Of course I'm joking. We're not that cavalier about our rifles. Nor are we about our grilling and BBQ. ;)

My Dad has a custom welded smoker BBQ. The thing is massive and gorgeous. I've joked with him that when he passes, he can will everything else to my brothers, but I want it in the will that the BBQ goes to me. Personally I love to grill fajitas, steaks, chicken. Mmm... I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

At the cottage we use charcoal but at home we use natural gas. I prefer the charcoal myself:D

We always grill using gas here. Do it so often it makes it easier to clean up

Lump Charcoal (not those nasty little briquettes that taste like lighter fluid) and Wood taste so much better than gas ever will...

Take the extra time, put in the extra effort - It's YOUR dinner!

I have all four types, a smoker a charcoal, an electric, and gas, and to be honest I prefer the smoker, but charcoal is a close second, and yes electric grills do work surprisingly well.

I love my BBQ grill. We don't use gas for the grill. I love to use cedar planks when cooking some fish on the grill. When doing beef or chicken I love to cook them on lump charcoal mixed with some bourbon barrel chips. Yum!

Right now, it's charcoal. I like the ease of gas, but I like the flavor of charcoal - so I go both ways (only in grilling, however).

Charcoal easilly. One thing I recently discovered is that using a chimney to light the charcoal gets the briquettes or lump charcoal (I always buy lump, other family members get kingsford) ready much more quickly than lighter fluid does.

However, my dad at his house has a sort of hybrid gas/charcoal grill. It has several gas burners that you can lay charcoal on (or wood chips, or both) and he can cook stuff in there that would be a lot more difficult to cook on a charcoal grill because you do have less control. Our grill is about to rust through at home, and its either getting replaced with a grill like my dads or the basic weber (we have a weber that is like the basic weber with a built in table).

Monday we had burgers that I cooked in the oven because I was too tired to grill (even if we had a gas grill, I wouldn't have done it that way). They weren't that great.

Most of my neighbors have those huge built in BBQ's but I just don't see any need for all of that so I bought the smallest one that I could find that was the highest quality.

Fuck.

I was just about to type that. :-) (Down Ladybird, DOWN !)

Frankly, I feel like a total *poof* writing this... But, I haven't a clue how
to BBQ or grill on either... !oops!

I've never had to, really. My Dad did it, my step-dad did it, my college
roommates did it, bf1 and now bf2 do it... Meanwhile I'm busy in the kitchen getting everything else ready. (Honestly, I should put on a skirt and apron
and just be done with it... )

However, there is something called a 'smokey Jr. kettle grill' that's still in the box unassembled in our garage. (No one seems to know where it came from)

Maybe when no one is around I'll put it together and try my hand at it...

(I'll alert the fire marshall, first)
