Grindhouse: Double Feature Movie

My husband & I went to the first showing today!
Huge Tarantino fan!
They were both really good and it's hard to compare them. Liked them equally...although Death had more dialogue.....familiar with Tarantino's work!

Planet Terror was what I'd call sci-fi....Death Proof...hard to catagorize??
Yes they're both testerone filled but Death Proof had the women in the audience cheering.....a Thelma & Louise 2007 somewhat.

Rose was in both and is awesome and there is a surprise star in Planet!

The intermission previews were hilarious.
Very different but definetely entertaining.
With normal theater previews and both films including the intermission it was about 3 and a half hours long!
Expect A LOT of over the top gore per these film makers signatures!

Loved this experience!!!!!! Both films got a little long in the tooth and could have used a little more editing, but by and large my buddies and I laughed our asses off. The fake previews fucking rocked!!! It really did remind me of some of the films my parents would go see at the drive in and make me duck down in the back seat for when the scenes got too intense.

I was somewhat disappointed with Tarantino's film, just because it felt like two movies actually, and both had a lot of talk with a short pay-off, but both pay-offs were pretty damned good. Planet Terror actually was the better of the two, with more laughs and a better sense of humor about it.

Great time at the movies...and those are so rare these days!

It's a lot of fun. Rodriguez isn't one of my favourite directors, but his film is pure unbridled mayhem - a joyous celebration of violence and gore. Of course, the beautiful Freddy Rodriguez alone is worth the price of admission. It hasn't gotten very good reviews, but I liked Tarantino's film better. It's sexy, smooth, fast-paced and the performances are really great.

Not the best film(s) of the year, but well worth the time and money.

I had a couple of friends that weren't interested in it that saw it with me and they are now happy they did check it out. It was was with out a doubt a fun experience and the fake trailers had everyone cracking up.

I just got back from seeing it now. It was fucking nuts!!

I love the cheesiness of Tarantino's movies I think the fact that he really emphasizes on it is what makes his films so amazing, that plus the super hot girls with big guns!

Planet Terror really sold me after Rose McGowan got her gun leg....so fucking awesome!!!

Planet Terror on average was a better experience. I loved the song Cherry dances to in the beginning! I also love the fact that Marley Shelton was in it. It's nice tos ee her in something good and to see that she can act.

Death Proof's beginning was alright, the middle where they introduce the new girls and the dialogue in the restaurant (while cool that they did it all in one take) was so goddamn boring! But the ending was so worth the awful lull in the middle!
