I told my mum.
She knows.
I'm gay.

And do you know what she said?

"Do you think I have a problem with who you are? I have loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. And I always will. You are a very special person and you deserve to be very happy. I will always be here for you no matter what. Don't be scared xx"

And then:

"I love you more than you can possibly imagine. You are my best friend. Thank you for beng in my life and allowing me to be a part of yours xx"

I'm bawling my eyes out.
 
That's great to hear. Your mom must be a very wonderful woman.
 
I love hearing coming out stories they are always pleasant to read especially when the person you come out to has a positive response.

Congrats!! I know how much better you must feel right now. I like hearing when guys have positive things to say about coming out.
 
Do you realise how much I love my mum at this moment.

I can't explain it, but she's my rock and I will always love her. I'm still trying to keep myself from crying now!

She told me this too:

"I think I have known for a long time. I just want you to be happy mate. You can tell me anything, you know that. You told me that's the important thing, how you told me doesn't matter."

It's because I text it to her instead of saying it to her face unfortunately. Does that take away some of my manly-ness?
 
Congrats! That's how I hope my mother reacts when I tell her. I have no reason to think she won't, but I keep chickening out. Stories like yours boost my confidence though :)
