I love GusGus! I thought I was the only one that had ever heard of them, :) I got hooked on them when I found the CD at a used cd store for a buck. I had never heard of them, but the cover looked cool. They are great!
 
"Polyesterday" remains one of my favorite songs.
I also like "Ladyshave".
As triphop collectives go, Gus Gus has been one of the best.

The opening track from the recent '24/7' album, 'Thin Ice' gets 3 varied remixes of a high standard. Wareika is the main draw here with some deep minimla house with some nice bleepy action on top. The original piano keys are kept in tact but spread out across the whole side. The Analog People In A digital World Mix is a chunkier affair with the vocal smouldering away in the background, a really well done mix that thumps those beats home. The final mix is from Ben Frost and is a soundscape in it's own right, with the vocal and sweeps being the main draw.

On May 10, Kompakt will release Arabian Horse, the latest full-length from the long-running Icelandic electronic music collective GusGus.
 
Magnified Love / Within You Dubs

Heralding the arrival of GusGus's seventh studio album we're proud to present these exclusive instrumental versions of two of the highlight tracks from "Arabian Horse". Following GusGus longstanding tradition of creating their own remixes the band's masterminds Biggi Veira and President Bongo laid their hands on "Within me" respectively "Magnified Love". Biggi's take on "Within me" focusses on the squelching synth line and opens the door to the echo chamber. The outcome is a eerie dub techno track spiced up with tearjerking string cascades. Bongo takes "Maginfied Love" on an underwater journey, accompanied with sprinkles of piano and mysterious hissing noises. So deep, so good...
