Joe, I'm glad to hear you are out for now, but sorry to hear the prospect of prison soon. Hopefully your story can serve as a warning to anyone on JUB who may have similar materials.

Now that you know you will be charged, I guess you will need to have that talk with your parents. I think I would start by telling them that you have gotten into trouble with the law and expect to be going to prison. During the initial conversation, I would try to leave out that it was child pornography or at least give them a few minutes to digest the whole prison thing first. You will have to tell them at some point, but it may be better to hear it in small doses.

Keep your head up. Take the next few weeks to get your affairs in order. I know this is rough, but you will get through it and lead a productive life.

I am not a laywer/solicitor but still think, this is BS.

I'm beginning to believe your Solicitor is not working in your best interests.

Is there a way to get a second/third/fourth opinion?

Is there SOMEBODY out there that can help???????????? This is so, so wrong.

EDIT: If nothing else, is there a possibility for a plea? Bit of a rant here, but for christsakes, you have posted this saga on the Internet for several months now, and perhaps you have warned many, many people Globally to not make the admitted mistakes you made. Hey, we are all human and make mistakes, and how humiliating; you have expressed regret for what happened and hundreds of thousands of Gay men now know the lesson and are currently checking their computers for 'bad stuff'? And all along you have admitted regret. Which shows intent. Maybe pull your threads off this site and print them out? Just my 2 cents.

Interestingly enough no one wants to talk about it, but if you put the pieces together along with the links, it seems they found kiddie porn in his computer. But this is also a person who as per their blog quote by rareboy seemed hell bent on self-destruction, which I have nothing against. Self-destruction is fun. BUT, when self-destruction means getting intoxicated in a vehicle where others are at risk, it's selfish. And given the kiddie porn bit I'm not sure where all the sympathy is coming from. Given how this board isn't too keen on sympathy. But hey...
