Have you ever stopped to think that maybe most people on JUB are leftist and that the people on CE&P who know their facts are more moderate?

I've went there a few times and the only thing LaikaNYC is guilty of is keeping an open mind. There are few people around here that I would describe as "right wing" and a lot of people I would describe as "uneducated left".

You see, I've been in educated discussions with Marxists and Socialists before and most people on here aren't even familiar with the Democratic talking points.

Your leftism takes the form of "Boo Fox News!" and "Evil GOP!" without any facts to back it up. Then when a guy like Laika comes around with a perfectly good statistic from a reputable source no one knows how to engage it at all other than "Troll!"

No, he's also guilty of stubbornly clinging to a point of view when facts that refute it have been presented, and of believing that Fox News is a legitimate news source, despite the fact that they have sued for the right to tell outright deliberate lies on air...and won. He's also guilty of parrotting talking points (which, granted, some on the left do also) without any thought of his own.

In fact I haven't seen him saying anything original or thoughtful. At all. He's young, of course, which affords him some excuse, but as it stands now he's a typical winger.

Laika never answers a real question and never actually discusses a topic. He consistently tries to derail threads and was one of the posters who tried to make the case that gay marriage is a slippery slope to bestiality.

From what I read, his sources are usually nonexistent or really shaky and when pushed to the wall, his only comeback is that FOXNEWSNETWORK has more viewers than the other cable news networks combined, as though that somehow implies moral and intellectual superiority of his only source for news.

A lot of us have probably had very educated discussions with marxists and socialists and all kinds of other ists over the last three decades. In reality, most of the posters here are like the rest of the US population. They are moderates and generally able to reconcile individual needs with societal obligations. Many are probably as libertarian as democrat or republican in their thinking. They can be fiscal conservatives and social liberals.

Over the last decade they've been manipulated by the media and the Rovian disciples to be whipped into a froth and told that they are either red or blue, for or against us, Halliburton patriots or terrorist sympathizers.

I think it says a lot about the moderates who post that they don't just barf out Democratic talking points. Or Marxist talking points.

It is most unfortunate when people refuse to search for common ground. And the trolls do their best to make sure that this never happens.

Which "shaky" sources have I posted? Have you actually convinced yourself that you're open-minded? I've yet to see you talk of any moderate political positions. Everything you parrot out is the same garbage one sees on MediaMatters and MSNBC. You are in no position to tell someone they are a puppet.
