back when i was a cap-guy i used to put a new cap in hot water and then stick a rubber-band around the beak to so it would be pointed. then i'd fray the rim, drench it in peroxide, and stick it out in the sun so it looked old. at my max, i had over twenty caps, which i hung on nails above the wall of my bed. this was such a late nineties thing to do: nobody does it anymore, like cargo paints and baggy carpenter jeans, and i just can't get myself into the new flat brimmed, off to the side cap style.
