Really want to hear from guys in situations like me, 100% closet, "straight," married to woman with kids, but enjoy the occasional M/M hookup at the gym or hotel while traveling for work. I am scared to death of getting a disease, not so much for me, but for my wife and family. How do you guys manage this, have you ever had a STI/STD? Please share your experiences, maybe it will relive the stress for some, or make others more aware of the risks! I usually just do jerking, and occasionally will top with a condom or let someone rim and suck me. So I never suck cock, kiss, eat ass, bottom, or top raw. Not fool proof, but doing my best to have fun while as safe as possible.

I do just jerking and stuff too. It's not worth the risk to get an STI/STD. Anyways, if you have too, make sure he's on prep, or at least says he is. Good luck.

PREP is all well and good, but it doesn't protect from bacterial STD's such as gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis (and this is one thing MANY people don't seem to understand).

According to peer-review studies, one CAN actually take antibiotics as a prophylactic within 72 hrs of having unprotected sex (such as Doxycycline in doses of 200Mg every 24 hrs for 3 days in a row)... and while it is effective in preventing bacterial STD's I mentioned, its not perfect, and there is a concern that overuse of antibiotics could result in more problems down the line (such as bacterial STD's developing a resistance - pretty much like its happening with doctors prescribing antibiotics for viral infections [which unsurprisingly doesn't work - and while I know this is to prevent secondary infections, problem is you're targeting at the incorrect stage]).

One of the ways to better ensure protection is to NOT engage in extra-marital sexual intercourse (obviously), and/or use condoms while having sex.
