Had to buy a new toaster.

Why do you need a toaster when you already have a toaster oven?

I have a larger toaster oven/ convection oven combo by Oster. That way I dont have to fire up the big oven as often.

^The toaster oven/convection combo I have is great. I almost never use the oven in the one my gas range. But I don't like toast made in a toaster oven. I think a pop-up toaster does a much better job. And since they're so cheap, I don't see any reason not to have both.

I like Big Lots. The big surprise for me is that they have rather nice furniture.

Enjoy the toaster!

I hate buying new small appliances.

We do some research, but generally now, s has been mentioned, they all suck.

My dad still has the 1956 Sunbeam 2-slice auto-lowering and rising toaster that his company's "sunshine club" gave him when my parents got married. Its chrome is still shiny, and still toasts great!
My parents also had a had a 4-slice Toastmaster toaster, circa 1970s, that thy bought for about $7. at Two Guys, a long-gone discount department store. It died around 2003.
Since then (sometime in 2003), I bought my dad a 4-slice Black and Decker toaster at Walmart. It is slower than the Toastmaster, but still works great.
As for me, I have my grandparents 2-slice Sunbeam auto-rise toaster. It is slightly newer than my parents' model (circa 1962...my grandparents inherited it from my uncle's divorce) and still works great!
