den of thieves

I stole something from a den of thieves
I broke in and took it
their jewels and their grief
I stole something from a den of thieves
but I am not a thief

I stole something from the home of mauraders
quiet as a cat
in my pocket an emblem and a stone
I fled and counted my ill-begotten gains
the things I took from their home

I stole something from a den of thieves
it wasn't mine to take
my morals, questionable, but it is my belief
to steal from a den of thieves
does not make me a thief

What I'm trying to say is life has gotten easier than it used to be, and the absence of you doesn't bring me sadness anymore. So I'll try not to be bitter and I'll let myself be sad when it hits me again. And I'll let a smile cross my lips when I come across a good memory of us. But this is it. You're gone but so am I. So let's just send light and love to each other when we cross each other's minds. Let's just keep going our own ways. Let's just smile and call it quits.

Love like a River

One may love a river as soon one set eyes upon it.
It may have certain features that fit instantly
with one's conception of beauty, or it may recall
the qualities of some other river, well know and deeply loved.
One may feel in the same way an instant affinity
for a man or woman and know that here is pleasure and warmth and
the foundation of deep friendship. In either case the full riches
of the discovery are not immediately released-
they cannot be; only knowledge and close experience can release them.
Rivers, I suppose, are not apt at all like human beings, bit it us still possible
to make apt comparisons, and this is one: understanding whether
instinctive and immediate or developing over time or grown by conscious effort,
is a necessary preliminary to love. Understanding of another human being can never be
complete, but as it grows toward completeness, it becomes love almost inevitably.

I don't know the author, but the funny part, It was a review on a fishing book that expands into life .
Eloquent words.
