Not really sure if anyone has any ideas or not but i thought i would reach out for help, i am 23 5'10" and 175lbs, i exercise 4 - 5 times a week and really not under any stress, but for about a year and a half to 2 years my hair has been falling out.

It is falling out on the top of my head, i haven't lost my hair line or anything, Ive gone to a dermatologist and he didn't have any clue and i went to my regular Dr. and got a few test done so far, all my hormones and vitamin lvls are normal. DHT, testosterone, andro, everything was normal, they might do a scalp biopsy but not sure yet.

so i wanted to see if any of you guys had any ideas? maybe some of yall have been through the same thing and have any advice.

Thanks guys

advice? hmm..well hiding it, like wearing a baseball cap, can make things worse
there is such thing as traction loss, where friction on your scalp will hinder hair growth.
also, you dont need to shampoo your hair every day, our hair was never meant to be washed so often. ive found that my hair looks better if i dont overdo it.
i started losing my hair after age 20 but its been gradual since and there are times the loss seems to slow down.
i use a special shampoo, ketoconazole, for a scalp condition but it may have the added benefit of slowing hair loss.

i hope this helps, and dont beat yourself up over it.

the most attractive sexy intelligent amazingly gorgeous men inside and out i have EVER known were all losing their hair even younger than you!

If you grow our hair out and long...you will notice the ammount of hair you lose naturally on a daily basis...don't freak out (like moi)

Though if it's thinning...i dunno, keep it shaved or cut low.

I'm resigned to the fact i'll be bald as a coot by 30, and baldyness is rather attractive...seems more virile and uninhibited. And i agree with the don't wash it every day thing, female friends do it every morning and i always hear them complaining of weak/losing hair.

Don't stress out about it :)

You can always try Rogain, it does work for some people. But other than nature and genetics you may not have a say in it.

It's really all about genetics. Nothing that any of us have any control over. Despite all the $ made by hair loss "cures", it's simply something that a lot of us "Boys", and even Girls, too, go through. It is what it is. "Stuff" happens. #-o

My own hair loss is on top. My front is not receding (at least not all that much). However, from the back, and above, I'm looking like a cue ball! ](*,)

The kewl thing about that is, I don't see it in the mirror! ..| (Unless I turn around and look back! :help: )

Then again, I've reached a "certain age" that I no longer care! And, in a way, that's a "Good Thing"!

My dad, at 85, still has his full "Lion's Main"! However, one of my cousins, on Dad's side, is totally bald! At 6'3" he claims he grew Past his hair!

I've also noticed that with my hair thinning on top there is more growing on/in my ears and nose! Is it just migrating lower?

I'm also one of those hairy Dudes. I've got fur growing all over me! However, I've also noticed the color fading to gray/white from the top down. My chest is pale, but my "treasure trail", pubes, arms, legs, still have brown color to them. :D

Pattern baldness is a Natural gig! It's certainly nothing to stress over! We all look the ways we do for solid reasons, whether We like it, or not.

All the more reason to ... no matter what ...

Keep smilin'!!(*8*)
Chaz :luv:

the only thing ive ever been able to come up with was a few months before this started i was at the beach with my friend and his family, and his mom sprayed every ones hair with peroxide to lighten it,

but thanks for the advice guys

Are the other men in your family bald, is it genetic?

There's shampoos and creams etc you can buy that will help slow down the process.

Same problem here.... I went to the dermatologist and I have tried some stuff, but nothing worked...

It is probably either genetic or because of stress. If there are members in your family with this kind of tendence/problem then this is why.

My dermatologist had told me something about a spray (or medicine, I am not sure) that can get some of your lost hair back, but you have to use it perpetually for many years and if you stop it then the "new" hair will fall down again. Anyway, I don't know if it is worth it but you can ask your dermatologist.

In general, you should use shampoos (prescripted by a dermatologist) that reduce the hair loss and always remember that you should wash your hair only 2-3 times per week. It's the best. When your hair gets oily it's actually good for the hair (even if we don't like it and we wash it away, that's how hair remains healthy!)

Is your hair falling out in chunks as in an illness? Or is it thinning as in baldness?

Your hair could just be sensitive to hormones, even at their normal levels. Have you asked your doctor if there's any reason you shouldn't try the usual hair loss treatments like rogaine?

I noticed my hairline receding about 4 years ago, and now I'm fairly sure I'll be bald on top by the end of this year, I already have bald temples going back almost half way up my scalp. And I'm 21. It sucks, but other than paying a fortune on treatments that might work a bit if you're lucky, there's nothing you can do so don't worry about it.

A lot of people will say see the doctor etc or tell you you're too young so it must be something else, but the truth is it's not that uncommon for people to start losing their hair before or after 30, more common than being gay from what I've noticed. It happens to most guys eventually. Male pattern baldness isn't affected by health, stress, diet excersize or anything else you'll probably be told by the uninformed, and if it was stress related your doctor would have probably picked up on it.

The best thing you can do is carry on as normal until you can't work with it anymore, then shave it short or completely. There's nothing that you could have done to cause or prevent male pattern baldness, assuming that's what it is which seems likely. It'll seem like the worst thing in a world at times, but if you shave you'll realise that you dont have to give a flying fuck anymore because you're no longer losing your hair and you look like what you look like and get on with your life.

I used to visit a hair loss support forum, but I'd highly advise against it; full of self loathing guys wallowing in group pity. Honestly, if you are losing your hair, your best bet is to just accept it and move on, hair really isnt a big deal and it acts as a filter to keep the shallow guys away :D

I have a cousin who went extremely bald in his early twenties. I'm now in my early thirties, and feel self-conscious over a balding patch I've had for a year or two. It's a sad fact, we can't stay young forever, no matter how hard we try...

forgot to mention how much is falling out.

if it's lots and easily noticeable that it's disappearing, then it's allopecia. it's common.

if it's a few strands every now and then, it's normal. we're animals. hair is thing, it bends, it breaks. a new strand grows.

if you have a bald spot, then calm down. you're not the first. men start losing their hair in the early 20s and some even start losing hair in the late teens. don't stress about this. just keep yourself healthy and clean, everything else will take care of itself.

I spent prolly 10 years tryin to fight the inevitable...cue ball...and then I started shavin it all off. Told I have a good head....HA!....so it is SO great not to have to worry about it AND, no more haircuts, shampoo, etc. At the gym, just shower and take off...I feel like I have EVOLVED beyond hair....have a short scruff goatee thing goin on, but I love the look, the feel and the convenience of bein completely bald....use an electric razor and do my face and head in less time than it takes to shave with a safety razor....Surrender to the bright side.....
