debated whether to go or not

not a musicals kinda guy

did the same with Rent on Broadway - and after seeing it, I was singing the tunes for months - LOL

well me and BF went last night - my take

amazing from the get go

the heavy set girl is a winner - her "good morning Baltimore" opening was so good

the scenery (60's) dead on

zac efron is not only cute, adorable, hot, smoking hot - but good singing and dancing

james marsden as corny collins (host of dance show) looks amazing and his acting/singing/dancing was right on

figured I'd hate John Travolta as Tracy's mom - whole cross dressing thing not my scene - he/she starts slow - but by the middle ur digging it

Christopher Walken is great as Tracy's dad - supportive, funny - has he ever been less than great in a movie?

Michelle Pfeiffer plays an evil station manager - even though u hate her (the idea), she's great

Amanda Bynes as Tracy's best bud steals the movie IMO - didn't expect much from her, and she nailed it

can't believe I'm writing this really - was prepared for not liking it

the music is A+

The black cast (blacks not allowed on the show) is amazing with singers and dancers - Queen Latifah is outstanding - god I like her

I could go on and on - and I'd still miss stuff

go see it

Seen it twice, and will probably go again. It is the best movie of the year in my opinion. Took my parents earlier last week for my second time since they were in town and got an email from my mom this morning saying that they bought the CD on the way home and then went to the movie again friday night and she is still singing the songs.
Definitely a two thumbs up movie!!!

in the crowd (packed) was

kids
teens
young adults
old people

the whole gamut - that's what makes a movie successful - wide demographic appeal

as we were walking out, a gray haired woman said "it was like going to a broadway show"

The bus number on the school bus was different on the inside than the number on the outside.In fact it was a transit bus painted yellow,although they did use a real school bus when she was looking out the window of the school.

Just a few,but noticeable.

I noticed a WIDE demographic also.Kinda odd.GREAT movie all in all though.

I must say I'm shocked by all the positive reviews. I thought the gay community was prepared to detest this movie for the Travolta factor alone.

i liked that they didn't paint the toronto streetcars into the baltimore colours.
pretty cool seeing TTC on the side

maybe travoltra got the paid the entire budget.

(haven't seen the movie yet, but coincidentally overheard two older ladies talking about it today...."OY ! John Travolta was SO 'distracting'...VERY distracting he was!..." ...whatever... :rolleyes:

I admire you Bradlee, knowing your love for school buses, that was a no brainer, and I can see your attention to details as far as numbers inside and outside. It is a Bradlee's favorite bus after all,

but the jukebox........ man that sent me for a loop.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but really want to. However, I saw it on Broadway last month and it was like a religious experience :-) That and Ashley Parker Angel played Link.
If its on tour in your area or you get the chance to get to NYC check it out!!!
 
Likewise, David Denby in the New Yorker hated it.

Another sign it must be a good movie.
