If they do make an X4, let's make sure it's Bryan Singer at the helm.

Please?

Unless he whores himself out to another unspectacular Superman movie and ditches the project...

Side note: frak is the hottest geek word right now, or ever.

Topic: You can bet they'll be one eventually. I just don't know when. If they wait longer than say, 2009, I doubt it will feature any of the good actors we want back.

I don't want her in it Storm's as boring as Scott blah by the rules characters despite the obvious necessity of such characters

I never knew she was offered the role. As much as I like Halle, I'd defnitely love Angela much better as Storm.

Yeah, they offered her the role first but she couldn't take it because she was filming another movie at the time.

Could I just say I love you. Everyone I talk to thinks that film was good but me thank you've made my day. Halle has wanted an X4 since Storm's character got beefed up in 3. If X4 was to happen it would be a very different cast this time round.

Superman Returns was horrible. Really sad actually, that he could've just stayed with X-Men and made a great third film, instead of that pathetic Superman movie that should've never seen the light of day.

Angela Bassett turned down a LOT of good roles in her career. Angela also was asked to be in Monster's Ball but I read an article in Newsweek. And Angela said the movie was negative towards black women. She also turned down X MEN. Angela says she only wants to do positive and respectful roles.

I wish Angela Bassett hadn't turned down the role.

I'm so glad Angela Bassett turned down the role... 1) she's waay too old to play that part....2) as great an actress as she is Storm is a beautiful woman...Angela doesn't have the look for it... Halle played it as well as it was written for her... personally I loved all 3 movies because I'm a huge fan of the comics.... I just think the writting was horrid ....

The guy you need to write to is Tom Defalco and/or Lauren Shuler Donner at fox studios....

and I don't care what anyone says... I felt that Brett Ratner did a fine job... possibly even better job when he was at the helm than Bryan Singer... as far as I am concerned Bryan Singer had the movie oppurtunity of a lifetime...The X-Men represent us gay folk ( being discriminated against for the way they are born) and Bryan being gay himself could have really taken this to a level where everyone got it... but instead he opted out and went to superman... bah f*ck him...

X 1 and 2 had a lot of gay sensability within it's script and characters, and Singer's films in the series are the only ones that treated the subject matter with respect and an adult sensebility to it. Sure it was based on a comic book and so he could had made it to be a strictly kiddie fare because of it, but he took the best road and made it a film series that was open to all ages and genders and races. I cannot stand X3 as it pretty much was popcorn fare and failed to built on the strong foundation that Singer built for the characters in the first two films. Rogue was sidelined when it should have been her moment to shine and Collosus ( sorry about the spelling ), who turns out gay in an XMEN AU comic a while back, was barely used at all.
I am glad though that X4 is still on the cards. It is a great series that can show a lot of potential if handled right and the source material is filled with lots of storylines and ideas they can use. Personally I hope they resurrect Jean, Scott and Professor X in the fourth one, and judging by the cliffhanger ending and the end of the credits its a fair bet to say Professor X will be back in one form or another.

Angela looks more like Storm than Halle IMO, and from what I remember, was older than Halle as well.

I also don't like how Halle demands a larger part I feel that's putting yourself above script and storyline I don't care how much screen time you want the storyline doesn't call for you to be there so shut up.

Storm is nothing but a respectful role. Angela Basset must be nuts.

I think the way X4 is going to be is realyl more of a Gen X/New X-Men/New Mutants feel, the next wave of superstudents.

If Bryan hadn't jumped off for Superman, he would have had everything he wanted from the series. He originally planned X3 to be about Jean's Phoenix powers and X4 to be about Dark Phoenix.

X3 could have been a lot better, but it was far more exciting than the other two ever were. But given how fucked the whole movie got with Bryan jumping ship and taking two of his writers with him and after having set up Phoenix in X2, the second replacement director jumpign ship, and Brett Ratner having 3 months till shooting started, I'd say it probably wasn't all Ratner's fault.

But mostly, I blame the fall of the series on Singer. He set up movie 3, it's not like they decided to make X3 out of no where and he hadn't thought about it and didn't want to. He abandoned his responsibility to the fans of X-Men and now what could have been, how obvisouly different X3 is from X2 and X1 will always remain.
