Halloween Plans?

I abhor the holiday. I will celebrate by buying an Almond Joy bar and eating it.
 
Trick-or-Treaters don't ever come this far out. It used to be that, when I lived in the city, I gave out a balloon and THIRTEEN CENTS to those who showed up.

Halloween will just be another ordinary day.

(!)Of course, it won't be all sad - a dear friend has invited me to lunch and some other friends are going along, so it'll be fun. We're opening some really lovely Shiraz blends from the Clare. (!w!) I intend to bake a hazelnut torte and a pear tart or a lemon tart - not sure which tart, but there will be tart involved.(UU)

As for the evening - I don't like the 'what have you got for me?' presumptions that go with the visiting households that the kids and their families don't know from Jack, Adam, or whoever. I find it irritating and stupid and greedy and self-important and ignorant. But that's just me. :D
