Could be carpul tunnel or cubital tunnel.

My b/f has been having problems with his. He has had alot of surgeries and most have helped.

But if you slept on it wrong it could do that to. But for it to happen often is not normal.

If it is you pinky and ring finger is would most likely be cubital tunnel or at the guyan tunnel in the wrist.

Have a EMG done and it will tell you exactly the problem and or rule out the problem.

I have been going through the same problem for months now, there are two possibilities, the first, it may be a deficiency of vitamin B12, but if you are healthy and have a good diet, then it is not likely. The second is indeed "carpal tunnel syndrome", I, like you had no symptoms during the day at all, but slowly I started waking up at night with numb hands, after a visit to the doctor and some tests, he told me that I have "carpal tunnel" he prescribed some braces for my arms, I wear them at night, and though they are a bit uncomfortable to get use to wearing them, it solve the problem for me. Don't get me wrong, I do hate wearing them but they have really worked and the discomfort far outweighs the constant waking with numb hands. The doctor explained that sometimes it is not what we do during the day but what we are not aware of doing at night that can cause the problem. A visit to a doctor is always recommended for an accurate diagnosis.

Same diagnosis for me and same prescription for wrist brace, which can probably be had for under $20 at WalMart. I only had to wear mine for 6 weeks. Apparently, the way we sleep aggravates the condition and the wrist brace straightens it out.

Not a doc, but sure sounds like Carpal Tunnel to me. You could try a hand splint at night to keep your wrist open when you sleep.

I've had my 2left fingers on my left hand numb for 4 days.I asked my sis about it and she said that if my whole hand goes numb GO TO A DOCTOR.I believe it to be stress as it has happened before. There is tremendous stress in the family and with me at this time.I'm having a gathering of fam and FRIENDS sat.it will be interesting to see what happens.Take care and if you can get it checked out.

It's usually just a pinched nerve. Mostly the ulnar nerve which is a nerve in the elbow. If the nerve has been pinched for a long period of time it causes the fingers to go numb. I had this problem in college. Mostly because I'm a pianist and spent most of my time with my arms not so straight. It's best if you bandaged up the area around your elbow really tight forcing it to be straight. Also, try not sleeping on your arm.

Does your whole hand go numb or just a couple fingers?

I have had numbness in my fingers, too. It was due to a pinched nerve in my neck. I did a few sessions of physical therapy and the condition improved buy did not completely disappear. When I sleep on my side I still wake up with numbness sometimes.

Depends...sometimes it's the whole hand and sometimes it's just 2 or 3 fingers

Hmmm, this doesn't sound like carpal tunnel to me. Which two fingers? (pinky, ring, middle, index, thumb). If it varies, it may just be the way you are laying on your arm at night.
