Thank You Everyone!!! 😍

Gotta share another Birthday Gift - Look what my friend Adam posted on YouTube for me!

Nice Edd. My Mom's twin sister had 1960s(forget what year) 4 Door ugly old boat Delta 88 that I would wash and vacuum the interior for her. And clean all the windows.

All that for a dollar. 😠

When I first taught school in the mid-1980's, a local car dealership gave away a Delta 88 as part of some charity raffle. The wealthiest planter in the region had a daughter in college, and she won. It just seemed like fate was so unfair. It was a beautiful car, even if a bit matronly for a 19-year-old, not that she was any Twiggy.

Is that car real?! oh, I guess so!

My dad was so proud when he surprised the family with a new 1967 Delta 88 sedan a few weeks before my 10th birthday.

That 67 Oldsmobile had the Performance-ratio rear axle, and the Hi-compression 425 Rocket V8. And that combo resulted with my mom squealing the tires everytime she touched the gas pedal. Turns out it was difficult for mom to back out of our driveway without riding the brakes to slow the car down. The engine/transmission/final drive gearing made that 67 Delta 88 a real speed hog that easily overwhelmed the old bias-ply tires that came standard on the car. Waay too much power for that type of car at the time.

Here's catalog images of the higher priced Delta 88 Custom. It featured aluminum side trim and two additional rear lights set into the bumper.
