Too late....and the cost of that escapade ended up being about half the price of a brand new lawn tractor.

^ Believe it or not, Pilgrims did not dress like that. The costume we know today was created by an artist for a Thanksgiving greeting card in the latter half of the 19th century. (Similar to Coca Cola's image of Santa Clause as described in Clement Moore's "T'was the Night Before Christmas.")

I believe it. That's a lot of clothing, and expensive, for people fleeing as refugees. Working class people had few clothes, and they would have have been of finery for doing everyday chores, as they would be ruined within a week.

Seeing that painting is like seeing soldiers in full uniforms going into battle in the Civil War here, at a time when citizens were not issued uniforms. Even the Yanks in teh Revolutionary War would have been in dowdy attire except for officers.

It was a pretty good holiday meals for us. Just a small gathering of 6 people. Four cancelled earlier in the week because of a lingering illness that they didn't want to spread.
