I guess it goes back to the old brooms, which is when I last watched curling.

^ Things have changed a bit since then. They use hair brushes and synthetic pad brushes now, and they've just discovered 'directional sweeping' courtesy of Brad Gushue of Newfoundland/Labrador. There are still 2 sweepers, but only one sweeps at a time to either curl the rock or to hold the line. They switch back and forth depending upon the desired result.

Eve Muirhead is doing well and always does. I haven't seen the Scottish men's curling team (skipped by David Murdoch) for ages. There was a bit of a fiasco a few years back when he suddenly replaced Tom Brewster.

Close enough. Actually, sniping aside, I like the mayo on fries thing, so I'm actually sure I'd like poutine as well. Steak and kidney pie suited me just fine in London.

I do, too. It's odd to hear about people turning up their noses at the fries and mayo, but have no problem eating potato salad.

Poutine is really easy to make at home, but you have to use real cheese curds. If you can't get them, it's just not the same.

I eat a truly wide variety of fare, but am obstinate when it comes to badly prepared. I don't care if I'm eating corndogs or Beef Wellington, I want it to be done right. Had an omelet before a matinee Saturday, and it was browned and rubbery with pseudo cheddar cheese. I didn't bother to send it back and they charged me exorbitantly for the assorted items in my breakfast. Yet, this morning before church I made myself a 3-egg cheese omelet, and it came out tender and perfectly. Why can't a breakfast cafe do that?
