Hardest college course you've ever taken?

Film Theory and Criticism of the Silent Era

The fact that it was at 8AM had a lot to do with it.

Feminist Philosophy

The teacher hated the male sex and each 45 minute class was a bash all men for all of women's woes and troubles.

I feel your pain. For Expository Writing II, I had a 70 year-old fem-Nazi professor who looked like she did too much crack in her younger days. She abhorred men. She had been divorced 5 times and some how she blames men for the divorces. Hint: if you have been divorced that many times, YOU are the problem! She also demanded that we call her by her first name only as she considered her surname, her "slave (to men) name". Despite all that nonsense, she was quite brilliant. We had to write an expose on the "marketing of identity" and we had to bring in a cosmetic or toiletry product. I brought into class a bottle of Axe body spray and I remember her doing this...

"You see this class! This is what is wrong with your generation. [slams bottle on the table repeatedly] This is a phallus that all you women love to worship and it disgusts me! [heavily breathing] I need a cigarette break." She stormed out of the class and we could see outside the window her pacing, puffing away. She came back in and pretended that nothing happened.

Oh, the antics in college. How I miss them.

the fun and interesting thing is that some people list stuff here that i considered to be really easy :D probably someone else thinks the same about the FFT :)

i teach the Fast Fourrier Transform for part of what i do

Multidimensional Calculus
Physical Chemistry
Thermodynamics
Virology & Cell Culture (Midterm & Final exams were oral exams ... one-on-one with the prof)
Chemistry & Microbiology of Food Spoilage & Techniques of Food Preservation
Computer Data Structures & Programming

and that was my Freshmen semesters (jk) --- loved all of it

Haven't had any yet that stood out as actually difficult... most of them were kind of a breeze.

Philosophy: Ethics Theory and practice was the hardest on paper (4th term university transfer) and its the one i tried the hardest in... but wasn't too horrible.

Japanese next term though... I'm thinkin that might get tricky lol

But why did you ever sign up for the course?
I've never understood why anyone would ever waste his or her time on a class such as this one, so I'm curious as to why you ever ventured into the classroom in the first place.

algebra in Asia tought by an asian that did not speak english very well.

I had a similar problem while in Australia. I had an Indian guy teaching Investment Strategies and his English was poor (for a higher ed person) and his accent was very thick. That alone was probably why I got a B in it. Even my friend who graduated Summa Cum Laude got a B+ in the class for the same reason. The way questions were worded on exams were just messed up. Even the local Aussies thought he was a horrible prof so hopefully he got sacked.

Btw, is it theology do you mean by religion? Back in home town, I know that we have general religion education like "requirement" lol.^^
So I wonder why you have to take that course in your degree?

Depends on the religion. Because I'm Buddhist, I learn the basics of Buddhism, which is hard albeit very fascinating.

I have to take the courses because it's the requirement for the first semester. I know it's stupid; they think the courses can boost our morality and the bla bla bla thing

LOLOL ...you got me!

he was actually kind of hot .... a big, tall Norse kind of guy with one of the "___sky" names ... buzzed, short blond hair ...

he never used elevators .. he bounded up and down the stairs .. 3 or 4 at a time ...

he challenged anyone to race him to his office ... on the 5th floor .... no body ever won ...

his wife was a molecular pharmaceutical chemist ... or some such incomprehensible job .... and both were hired away as a team to some think-tank research group .... i was like .."wow ... he was my prof " ....

I absolutely loathed, abhorred, and detested Statistics!
