Harry Belafonte on President Obama

You probably read what I wrote about your type of cryptoliberal constant Obamahate helping to have put the Republicans in power.

Oh and by the way, didn't Harry give Chavez a rim job recently?

And he's gonna be taken seriously by anyone?

Or do you think that because he's black he would be standing behind everything Obama does?

Do you have evidence they dont?

Obviously it is my astute well-learned and battle tested OPINION

Really? That is your response?

You said it, back it up.

You said something, you were called on it and now you are trying to backtrack.

It really seems like you get off on people replying to your posts. You don't care about substance or if anyone likes what you are saying, you just like the attention.

I think the fact that Harry Belafonte doesn't dig Obama is ..........

a good thing for Obama

Harry is way out there and is toxic to "the folks" - pardon the bill o'reilly reference ;)

again... it is my astute well-learned and battle tested OPINION

I'm not a member of the DNC but they cannot like the far Left uprising, politically speaking

How about we deal in facts here.

What makes you think there is a far left uprising?

Don't give me that shit about your opinion.

Harry Belafonte saying something =/= an uprising.

it would mean to some that Obama is NOT so Left or perhaps moving to the middle

On a scale of 1-10, Obama's been at 3-5 this entire time. He hasn't been moving from far left to middle. He's always been near the middle.

^Thanks for asking, BearDaddy.

I don't know whether or not I will vote. It depends on who the Republicans nominate.

If it's a moderate, I'll probably not vote, since Obama is practically a Republican himself.

If it's someone batshit crazy like Sharron Angle, I'll vote for no other reason to keep that crazy bitch out of office.

Not that simple: will a "moderate" Republican president sign the batshit crazy bills a possibly Republican Congress could churn out?

You have a formidable point, Kulindahr.

It'll come down to the general feel in the air in 2012. By that time, the Tea Party will either lose much of its steam, or will pick up its pace.

I keep wishing for a disease that would only strike bigots that would make them uncontrollably scratch their asses half the time during the day.

And we're supposed to care what Harry Belafonte thinks because.....?

^I think he was looking at the race angle, Cowboy. Black Democrats were supposed to be his most ardent supporters.

"If even Harry Belafonte, a black Democrat, doesn't even like him anymore, what good is he?"

Not realizing all the while that Belafonte was a Communist.

Oh I see.

BearDaddy sees a black Democrat not liking the President, who is another black Democrat, so he's no good.

Oh the poignancy of this topic!

Guys, guys. State a premise, make an argument and reach a conclusion. This thread is a bit hard to follow. ](*,)

BearDaddy, I'm not sure what the point of this thread is. I intend to vote for Obama again, I think he's been a good president, but I have been bitterly disappointed in much that he has done and failed to achieve. As Theodore Roosevelt once said:

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

This is the crux of the problem with President Obama. If he is not pushed from the left, he will continue to slide to the right.

Many of us on the left believe that had Obama fought harder for some of the policies we support, like the public option, no continued tax break for the very wealthy, etc, his legislative successes would have achieved better results than they did. Moreover, Obama has failed to use the "bully pulpit" to change the terms of the debate in this country. that is because, in no small measure, he fears that if he criticizes the banks, Wall Street, et al, for their enormous role in the financial catastrophe we suffered, they will not give him any money for election.

So, I say, good for Harry Belafonte.

BearDaddy, you're not being honest with yourself.

You have to ask yourself why you chose Harry Belafonte, and not some other leftist. There are many other leftists who're better known than he, who're equally disgusted with the President.

There was surely a racial (NOT RACIST) element in your thinking when you chose him.

Wouldn't it be racist or racial thinking if BearDaddy ignored Belafonte's comments as unworthy of comment?

Not really, because he can't understand anyone who doesn't agree with him. In his mind, he's always right. As I said in another thread, it's all baiting. Just look at the front page with all his thread starts. He's got a lot of points to prove.

Who is going to start all the baiting threads now that the master baiter is gone?
