Thankfully he/she is not dead, well i hope not anyway, some of you may recall i bought myself a lovely Shar Pei dog last week, i called her Harry as she seemed to be having trouble with her gender identity, anyhoo that's by the by.

I was sweltering in the heat today so i thought i'd just nip to the corner shop and get myself an orange mivi and some Doritos and i took the dog with me so he/she could go toilet, i tied Harry's lead to the lamppost outside the shop and i swear i couldn't have been gone more than two minutes, when i came out she/he was gone, i shouted for him/her hoping he'd just set himself free but sadly nothing, i checked all the side streets and down on the beach prom but to no avail, i've spent all day looking for him/her, putting up posters and cards in local shops, i haven't called the police yet, i'm not sure if they even deal with that.

Anyway i thought i'd just ask if any of you had ever lost a pet or as it seems more likely had one stolen, did you manage to get them back ?

Can you advise me on any other course of action to take ?

:( Aww sorry to hear that. Years ago we had a dog we had rescued from the animal shelter and it ran off one day. Don't know how it got out, as we had another dog we had rescued the same time and he didn't leave.

Now what are you going to do with all that peanut butter?

I take it you didn't get it back ?

Oh Al, now's not the time. :(

no. once it was gone, it stayed gone. I secretly suspect our parents may have had to put him down. this was like 30 years ago so telling us he got out and ran away we would have believed that.

Ah my mother used that same ruse with my "uncle" Gavin.

No curries for a while, just in case . . .

I still miss my cat that got sucked up in the street sweeper :(

Have you tried looking under your floorboards?
