Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

you know for some reason ive gotten bored since prisoner of azkaban, which i loved, but i havent seen anything after that. i think they release them too close together, cant keep some people drooling when you do that. i will be seeing deathly hallows though.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

I can't decide if I like the trailer or not.
It's good because it's different. All the previous films trailers relied on special effects and fast paced action, whereas this one is simple and quite engimatic and mysterious.

But I wonder if it's maybe too simple. It only shows one plot point from the book and thats when Dumbledore met Voldemort for the first time which if you ask me, although it was interesting, wasn't really that important...

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Yates did as good a job as could be expected with the over-shortened Order of the Phoenix movie. As long as he gets as brilliant a supporting cast as he did last time, this should be at least a decent movie (I say supporting because I have always thought Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were pretty weak actors, typically saved by Rupert Grint).

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

I disagree. I think the fact that it is such a simple approach is what makes it interesting. And while you may think that the scene they decided to show [Dumbledore meeting TR], is somewhat trivial, I see it as one of the most important scenes in the series. It sets up a clear picture for the ground work of Voldemort's psyche. It conveys vast amounts of information in a very subtle way.

Anyway, that is me just reading too far into a children's novel....

I liked the trailer. I am excited.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Can't wait!!

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

^There are seven books. This next installment will be the penultimate movie in the Harry Potter series.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

^Oh, yeah--I forgot about that. Dammit, and here I thought I had the perfect chance to use the word "penultimate." Damn you, Beatleshead, and your correct statement.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer -- and Book 7

You guys do know that the final book is being filmed as two movies (to be released a year apart).
You probably knew (and know) more than I, but for those uninformed...

Maybe the final book WILL be done justly... I love the Potter movies personally

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

The trailer looks good.

I just hope that they try to include as much of the story as possible. OOTP had loads of the story cut out of it and that's why it sucked!

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

The fifth movie left out a lot of the parts of the book, that were in fact sentimental, but were mostly what made the book so good. I just seriously hope that they make this one with a little bit more conscience of what they leave out.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

I mean, it makes sense to make a horror movie out of a book filled with zombies, murder, psychotic kids, terrorism and cursed objects.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Hell Yeah! I can't wait! I am going to read the book again.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

I have consistently found the anticipation and geekdom of the movies to be far more fun, entertaining, and satisfying than the films themselves have been so far...

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

I actually loved Dark Knight, as a comic book enthusiast, but that's another story, haha...

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Quite honestly, I love all the movies and think people who complain about them are snobs and pretentious losers.

They're fucking kids movies, people, and they're really good.

They're becoming young adult's horror movies now, it seems, but in the end.. they're a lot of fun.

If you'd rather spend your time waxing poetic about fine cinema, go see some foreign film at that art flick house.

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

im not a huge fan of the harry potter series, apart from the first 3, the other 2 were not up to par in my opinion, hopefully this one will be better.
