Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer

Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Quite honestly, I love all the movies and think people who complain about them are snobs and pretentious losers.

They're fucking kids movies, people, and they're really good.

They're becoming young adult's horror movies now, it seems, but in the end.. they're a lot of fun.

If you'd rather spend your time waxing poetic about fine cinema, go see some foreign film at that art flick house.
I agree that they should be kids films...for the first two. Azkaban was my favorite, which was darker, but really, Goblet of Fire was a bunch of crap. It was pretty hard to follow, even for someone who read them and even worse for our one friend who didn't read the 4th book. The last film was fun, but they really haven't been as good as they could be, not just in terms of film structure, but just in terms of general portrayal.

I was really hoping for more out of Fleur and Viktor and she was basically just some Scandanavian upright blond and he was nonexistent, and the dance thing was os contrived. I mean, a lot fo kids movies are really bad in retrospect, so maybe the standard is unfair, but they really aren't that good of films, even if they were kids for films...

But, I do think that in the first two, the visual direction was spot on for what I thought Hogwarts looked like in the books and in the last one Luna was damn spot on. :D

Oh my gosh--I feel like a kid again. I'm so excited! This trailer was actually better than the first one with Dumbledore and young Tom Riddle--and that one was pretty good, I thought. I'm definitely watching this when it comes out.

The only thing that sucks is that it is not coming out this year any more. It now has a release date in July.

i love how they are doing these movies and i am so excited to watch this...But i really hate how focused it is about harry potter in this, i personally hate his character and would rather watch any of the other kids go through the adventures ahah

The video is way too jumpy and it won't let me download it to realplayer.
I'm always looking forward to the new Harry Potter movies though and this was my favourite book in the series! I actually watch it for Emma Watson (and the fact that I like the series), how weird.

Yep, I'm pissed off about that too. Just cause they wanted a summer blockbuster!? At least that means we'll only have to wait a year for the first insatallment of Deathly Hallows. They've already started filiming so it better be good.

Loved all the books - took me a year to read them all, start to finish. I swore I would kill anyone who revealed whether Harry lived or died before I finished the books. Now, I'm working my way through the movies. Watching #2 this weekend. XXX

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing this installment in theaters, I'm not going to. Simply b/c Warner Bros. decided to act like some greedy shady ass shysters and push the film back from Nov of last year to July of this year just to capitialize off of another sure-fire summer blockbuster.

Which is complete BS. The 3rd one came out in the summer and has the lowest total gross of the series. And the 5th one did as well and barely has 2nd place. Just because so many people saw Dark Knight does not mean all those people will go see HP6. I'm glad that they're making the 7th one in to two movies, but I have no doubt that was just as much of a business decision.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, I liked the story a lot better than the 5th.
I hope Maggie Smith is in it in more than just a passing scene.

Only the Prison of Azkaban film (directed with great skill by Alfonso Cuaron -- a REAL director) was worth a damn.

As I mentioned before, since that film made the lowest amount, and since WB has shown how much they care about money, I doubt we'd ever see him again. (Obviously no chance now since the series is starting to wrap).

The first two were sub-average and were mainly targeted for the kids. As the series progressed the films post Cuaron have been far from decent. I think the last one was probably the best if not the best in the series. Mainly b/c of the actors growth and refinement into their craft and roles. A lot of the candy ass appeal of the first two movies got left behind, and OOTP focused mainly on portraying the main characters as flawed human beings with complicated and relatable personalities.

The first two were pretty light-hearted, but the books were too. They didn't have the death and darker undertones that the 3rd began to have and came completely with the 4th. I didn't care for the 5th movie just because that was always my least favorite book.

the trailer looks great... although i think i need to re-read the book because they either added a lot of stuff or i don't remember it well at all.
