Re: The Half-Blood Prince Trailer
I was really hoping for more out of Fleur and Viktor and she was basically just some Scandanavian upright blond and he was nonexistent, and the dance thing was os contrived. I mean, a lot fo kids movies are really bad in retrospect, so maybe the standard is unfair, but they really aren't that good of films, even if they were kids for films...
But, I do think that in the first two, the visual direction was spot on for what I thought Hogwarts looked like in the books and in the last one Luna was damn spot on.
I agree that they should be kids films...for the first two. Azkaban was my favorite, which was darker, but really, Goblet of Fire was a bunch of crap. It was pretty hard to follow, even for someone who read them and even worse for our one friend who didn't read the 4th book. The last film was fun, but they really haven't been as good as they could be, not just in terms of film structure, but just in terms of general portrayal.Quite honestly, I love all the movies and think people who complain about them are snobs and pretentious losers.
They're fucking kids movies, people, and they're really good.
They're becoming young adult's horror movies now, it seems, but in the end.. they're a lot of fun.
If you'd rather spend your time waxing poetic about fine cinema, go see some foreign film at that art flick house.
