  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Has someone ever brought back an old thread....

at your age, do you seriously think you can remember all 20,800 posts?
i don't think so !!!

getting old is not for sissies !!

When Roseanne was in Connecticut she said she stayed at the beautiful
ISIT INN -- in ISIT Ct..

so have you ever been there?

1. Sometimes I start reading a thread, after reading some posts I feel like replying to them. I open the "post reply" in a new tab and write down my comment without posting it yet. I return back to the thread and continue reading the posts first. At one point I come across a post of me, without remembering that I already wrote something in that thread and which is basically the same text which I just started to write #-o

2. Sometimes I read an old comment of me and can't remember if it was meant to be serious or joking/sarcastic #-o

It has happened a couple of time.

I have had entire threads come back that I don't remember starting as well. Those really bug me.

Yes. It is awful when you read something you posted ages ago and you realise you don't agree with it but because it is on the front page you know people are going to presume it is recent and you still agree with it.

I only remember the times I get my pants down with a guy around.

i really can't remember

I actually have a good memory for posts, I just realize.

Better than for names etc.

But I do sometimes have to check what I wrote when someone sends me a comment on a thread from awhile back.

I have done some posts tipsy as hell and come back the next day thinking "hmm this is a good topic, let me post", go on the page and see I had already posted something the night before. I'm like whaaa

....that you posted in, and you can't for the life of you remember making that post.

I'll do you one better than that!

Threads brought back that were created by members who haven't posted here in YEARS! :bartshock

Many of which who either drifted away, self-deleted, changed their user names, or who had been banned (or convicted of crimes ), and we missed removing a thread.

Imagine back here in Mod Tower when all of a sudden an "old thread" reappears out of nowhere, and we're all like...WTF?

There are three sides to this from my perspective as a Mod:
  1. Those of us who've been around here for awhile see a "new" thread entitled: "I'm In Love With My Amish Straight Best-Friend." And the rest of us all go IILWMASBF thread #2,349 and then create parody threads.
  2. Then there's the side where I actually respect the idea or notion that someone actually "researched" the forum, and rather than create a "new" thread they resurrect and then add to one that already exists. (Granted it's circa 2004, but what the hell! :D )
  3. Seeing that forgotten thread that we forgot that we posted so many weeks ago, forces us to reconsider our drinking patterns, WTF we were actually thinking when we created that thread, or to create a parody thread making fun of ourselves not realizing that we were the OP that originally created that thread in the first place.
:luv:

I'm just saying. :D

Yep, I think I was drunk when I wrote it so I edited it.

I'll be honest enough to say this. I've amused myself by picking a section (Hot Topics), listing the threads by title or first poster, and then picking a random one that I posted in...just to see if I remember doing it.

The odd thing is - I almost always do. Sometimes, it's an "oh YEAH" moment, but I don't recall ever saying "I can't believe I posted that". Perhaps that means I'm dull and predictable. I can live with that. :)

The things I forget are some strange posts I've made #-o
