i'm watching this program on the travel channel about haunted houses/fun houses.

have you been to one? do you plan to go this halloween?

i have to say i haven't been to one in years. but i do think they're fun.

I never go to these things, but I went to one last night. It was huge and had four sections to it, including a haunted hay ride. It was cheesy but fun. They got a couple of good jumps out of me, but the most fun was watching the groups of shrieking teenagers when the characters with chain saws would chase them. :)

They are fun to go to, but like you its been awhile since I'be been to one and got scared. Instead, for the last two years I have done a haunted house for everyone in my neighborhood to enjoy. I have had alot of people say it was scary and amazing. Since you live SA you need to check out NIGHTMARE ON GRAYSON I've heard that place rocks, but beware it gets so busy and the lines are crazy. You might be waiting for hours to get in. There should be a website for them that you can get more info.

i drove by there last weekend and the lines were around the block!!

grayson is hugely successful and it was the last haunted house i visited. its been some years now but none of my friends care to get scared out of their socks! boo. :(

I like haunted houses, but I haven't been to one in almost twenty years. Unless you count the one that I helped put on with my drama group in college. I played a demented clown in a hall of mirrors. My throat was so sore from all of the cackling.

Spent last weekend at the 13th Floor. It was one of the houses travel channel featured. It was ridiculously freaky

Well that bites that no one wants to go with you. Your friends don't know what they are missing. Just knowing the thrill that you are going to get scared is the most fun. If I lived in SA I would so go with you to the haunted house to have fun.

Love, LOVE haunted houses.

My dad and I are actually planning on opening one...

i love them :) the first time i went i thought "This is plain stupid...." all of the sudden there was this vaccum seal silence lol all of the sudden i hear a chainsaw and the group of people started running and screaming!... jesus christ i went apeshit!!! i started running like a bitch dodging bullets from her pimp :\

I used to help build them and work in them as well as part of a volunteer program to help support our local humane society.

This was quite a while ago, but it was great fun.

I have vivid memories of painting this *huge* room in black and white checkerboard designs. Then, when lit with blacklight and strobe lights, we'd wear these jumpsuit-type things with the same black and white patterns on them so we'd blend into the wall, then jump out and scare the living daylights out of the passers through....

Ahh, good times. :gogirl:

I once worked in a hotel that had served as a makeshift hospital for soldier. Apparently many died so it was said to be haunted. I never believed in ghost before. But the curtains would billow like it was windy even though the windows were closed. Doors would open and close. Lights would turn off and on.

^ a haunted house at a state penitentiary???

freakin' awesome!! ..|

Wow...! Now, that's fast!

I've only been to a Haunted House twice, both times when I was a teenager. I went with my older sister both times. I remembered I was scared shitless a couple of times. What really freaked me out was when one of the "monsters" knew my name - it turned out that it was a classmate of mine who recognized me.

I've seen signs on the road for a "Haunted Maze" in a cornfield about three miles from where I live. I've thought about going to that if I can get a couple of friends to go with me.

Recently, there's have been news reports of authorities
shutting down "haunted houses" for safety reasons.
