I love this day.....the culmination of all the narratives of death and resurrection and Zombies.

Why can't we come up with shit like this any more. After the Morons and L. Ron Hubbard...we seem to have stalled.

I had one of those street preachers tried to engage me in conversation the other day. I said 'Sorry, I already have an imaginary friend'

Yep, it's a local festivity in lots of towns and cities in Catalonia...

It's got its own catchy theme song.

The two blokes who sing the bit of chant look like they're lip-synching. It often occurs to me that religion is essentially a branch of show business.

Wherever there's mass there's show... that's why the mass is called mass.

Couldn't find the cumbatholic tune I was looking for... "llevamos veinte siglos caminandoooooo, desde aquel día de Pentecostéeeeeees..."

I've always believed that 'religious show business' is for people who aren't talented enough for 'real show business'. Especially since 'real show business' requires at least a bit of intelligence and a somewhat tolerable personality to get anywhere.

Of course, in the beginning, 'religious' performers and composers were likely enslaved/commandeered/forced into it.

You don't mean that people without the necessary talent for the real show business of religion must resort to turning themselves into little tune or ball gods of the modern mass religions of poOp music and sports cults.

Real show business demands a certain lack of intelligence and personality for "followers" and "believers" to religiously dissolve whatever "self" they may have into their god and cult of choice.

'Show business' is the mass (obviously, necessarily cheap) version of performing arts, and it has nothing to do with what is actually being delivered, but with what is PERCEIVED by the "feeling", undiscerning mass.
