Have we reached dessert perfection?

First it was Turducken and now it's the Piecaken!

I surrender, sure - just throw it on the table with all the other Holiday Horrors.

Brothers and Sisters! Cheer with me for we have achieved the sugary Nirvana!

Since the beginning of time we have struggled with the decision after dinner to have pie or cake, or even to have one of each and be undeservedly accused of gluttony, but no more! Now you can have both at once, behold the Piecaken!

Move Over Turducken, PIECAKEN Is The Dish To Beat This Thanksgiving

Only in America <sighs>

Hey! I saw this on an episode of Drop Dead Diva.... few years ago....

I think it sounds horrible....

My favorite dessert will always be pumpkin pie.

My favorite dessert will always be pumpkin pie.

Pumpkin is way down on my pie chart, but only because so many pies outrank it for my taste buds. That didn't stop me from making two this year. One was made in a Marie Callender's which was fine, but I gave it away to the thieflings next door when I learned their dad didn't make them the Rice Krispies Treats he'd promised them.

The other pie I made in a crust my aunt told me about on the phone. The crust is chopped dates, oatmeal, and pecans, processed until they make a dough. I should have known when I found the same recipe online as an unbaked crust that it was suspect. Long story short, when I sampled a slice, it scorched.

So, not one to throw away a pie, I baked another Callender's crust, scooped out the filling and folded whipped cream into it to make a pumpkin mousse pie, then topped it with more whipped cream. I licked the spatula -- yum! Put the whole thing in the freezer until it is needed, as I still have a bourbon pecan pie to finish off.

Pie. It's all about pie.

That piecaken gets me a tad randy...does it make anyone else randy?

I'm not into vanilla sex---but a perfect dessert for me is a top quality vanilla bean ice cream or gelato or frozen custard.

Likewise - although there's a special place in my heart for fancy chocolate too.
The turduckencake's pie pasty looks a little underdone. I think I'll stick to cake or pie :p

What if I stuffed baby green pea inside a brussel sprout, and stuffed the brussel inside a turnip, and stuffed the turnip inside a rutabaga, and stuffed the rutabaga inside a huge head of cabbage *wave*

Come back to me when you can do it in reverse order, then I'll be impressed.
