I'm glad I like my men mature looking.

Well I can only share an experience that happened to someone I know here in Canada. I won't go in to detail but seeing as the person(kid) told him he was 18 and he saw his profile (the kid) on an adult site for 18 and older he didn't get into trouble, but was warned by the police to be very careful in the futur.

I picked up a man one night( I lived in Miami beach then)at a bar, had a good time. The next morning when we got up, he asked me to give him a ride to school. I thought he meant college, he was a senior in high school and was 18....I thought he was 28 because he looked so mature and was like 6'4 . Cracked my face.

No i tend to go for 'older looking' guys

Actually the police came to him it wasn't the same circumstances.

From a legal standpoint, your friend could get the bar in a lot of trouble for not checking ID's thoroughly - a fake can be detected, especially in California, by running the ID under a blacklight. If your friend picked up a guy in a bar, the logical conclusion is that he is 21 - the boy blackmailing him could also get in a shitload of trouble for having a fake ID, entering a bar under the age of 21, underage drinking (if he was at the time), as well as blackmail. Your friend ought to be okay from a legal standpoint, if his lawyer is worth a damn.

Also: I have been asked by a few guys to show them my ID to verify I was 18. I think I was 18/19 at the time.

 Sure, spend $50,000 to $100,000 to argue that to the judge & jury.

Same could be said of a liquor store owner assuming "good faith" to someone saying they were of age.

Good luck.

Don't want to be charged with underage sexual misconduct? Don't have sex with teenagers.

What about some of us younger guys who like the older men, hmm? What are we supposed to do! :(

Easy peasy. Get therapy and get over your daddy fixation so you can form HEALTHY relationships with guys your OWN age and not enable the Old Trolls.

Ouch?

I like guys my own age fine, too, and have no problems forming "healthy relationships" with them, thanks.

wow. you're awfully judgemental. who are you to say whether his view of relationships is healthy or not?

Guys chill I am pretty sure the Pianist was being sarcastic.

Good advice to always make sure the guy is of age. Hopefully the prosecutors will use discretion and not seek charges. After all, he came forward voluntarily and is helping they pursue the guy. Wouldn't it be funny if he really is of age, but lied to try to get some money?

I don't ask for I.D because I generaly don't go for guys that look underage. But then again, 16 is the age of consent here, so it gets a bit more tricky for the blackmailing types.

"enable the Old Trolls." What a loving, caring community we are! I smile at the thought of your becoming an "old Troll.":=D:

I have not. But will in the future if I hookup with anyone 'looking' under 25 ever again.

A friend of a friend got busted, not in a sting but in a blackmail scam. He refused to pay and contacted police. Plenty of legal entanglement$ ahead for him.

What's wrong with fucking?

This age thing goes both ways...I've chat with guys online &/or over the phone that claim they were 40 and turned out to be 50-plus..

I've always been atttracted to older Men & Women but they still lie about their age..
