Have you been to a mall where it's struggling to stay alive?

Where I am theirs a mall that is struggling bad its mostly like a ghost town only a few stores in it. It open up in 1988 the owner is not really taking care of it looks like a new store might open up but I doubt it will last long. Do any of you know a mall like that where you are?

Both malls in my town are about 50% empty of stores. The one is supposed to be switching to an outdoor style as they owners think that will help, but I am not so sure. Both malls are way over priced or have shit products.

Our local mall has its ups and downs we have 56 stores and its probably 30-50 percent filled its a one level mall. So many stores come and go and the food court has 3 restaurants. Its mostly cell phone and shoe stores in there. I ran in the mall to get cbd products and was shocked how empty the mall is. I don't know what the future is for the mall.

I haven't been in one since the 1980s but we have alot of them and none I know if have closed - yet.

It is sad to thinks kids and teenagers will never know about Malls, end of an era.

The one here lost all the anchor stores and I think the only brand stores left is Victoria Secret and a Dunhams sporting goods.

I haven’t been there in 10 years.

Some malls here have closed or changed to more open plans, but a few are left. There are several closed stores in the mall, but about 80% are still operating.

I've been living in one for 36 years. #POW #shablamandthenshimmy #shebops #shetwirls #shefabulous #ebonykween #theOTHERrainbowkids #wedidnthaveaplaygroundjustamirrorandaboombox

Its been years, but yep I've been a few different malls that were struggling.
All have long since been demo'ed & replaced with other stuff.

Yes Golf Mill in Niles Sears is gone! Kohls is gone I rarely go to JC pennys and there are not any stores I would really go to! I mean when you can't keep an Auntie Anne's pretzels something is seriously wrong! They have 2 nail salons but no one is ever there!

Years ago someone tried to convince us that with the growth of population there would be the need for all kinds of new shopping malls.

And I flatly disagreed with the speaker because even then you could see the paradigm shift. The mall in our community is kept active and vibrant by tearing down the section that used to have Sears and building new stores that will be the anchors...They also redeveloped with a whole string of stores that aren't accessed from inside but are geared to the drive-up crowd....but if mall owners aren't on top of this shit every minute over the last 5 to 10 years, most of them have killed their malls
