Have you considered taking testosterone or do you know anyone who has?

I take testosterone in the form of a gel I put on my shoulders everyday. I started noticing a decrease in my sexual appetite and my need to shave decreased. Since I have been taking it my libido increased and I'm shaving the way did when I was younger. It hasn't made my facial hair increase tho....

I know someone who takes them for medical reasons. He had bad depression and his system got fucked up and he stopped producing it. He takes a shot every two weeks.

Luckily I don't need it.

I'd pay to NOT have to shave. Consider yourself lucky.

Besides, how do you know you won't start growing hair on your back in carpets? Or go bald? The funny thing about hair, and hormones is you never know where it might show up.

There are no magic pills. Work with what ya got dealt.

I took it for a while and noticed a definite boost in my sex drive. Unfortunately, I had a side effect of sudden unexplained outbursts of rage. Very scary, so I stopped taking it.

I'm not opposed to it though, as long as you keep checking in with your doctor. Remember, it's a steroid...

There's obviously never been a shortage of gay men who thinks it takes certain physical qualities to be a "real man." I myself have never thought I'd be more manly with facial hair, however would love to have more facial hair simply to help personalize my look more.

A while back, I read a chapter from an Augusten Burroughs memoir detailing his use of hormones and the practice of guys "transgendering" themselves into even manlier men and I asked myself if I'd ever do such a thing.

Every once in a while, when I look at photos of f2m trans men, I ask myself: "If a woman can grow that stubble, can I?" I've never looked into it with a doctor, but it's one of many things I'm curious about.

Do you or any male you know have experience taking male hormones? Have you ever thought about it?

dunno

like 6 dudes 4 ta carry and 2 ta keep me bits good work out

thankyou

maybe 24 dudes nah make da 240

I'm 18 about to be 19 and at times the freaking beard won't stop! I swear. Though, when i shave I look like i'm 16...So no I wouldn't

I have researched it a bit. I discussed it with my friend that is a RN. He does not think that I need it. I was curious if it would deepen my voice.

I think what I found was taking testosterone is not necessarily a good thing because your body adjusts over time by producing even less. I have read that it is better to take things to improve your production of testosterone rather than taking actual testosterone.

A couple of the things recommended are: Zinc and Tribulus

This discussion gets brought up A LOT on the body building boards.

On the other hand, one thing that most people don't consider is our bodies usually create balances for a reason. A lower testosterone as we age is normal and the body may possibly do this for a reason, such as reduce cancer risk, etc. I don't think that this has been studied enough.

I wish I could grow facial hair! ^ Im the same age as you and I barely have any hair :( And I think I'd look good with a little scruff or 5 o'clock shadow... Oh well. Gotta be patient I guess

I know some some older guys who use the gel and some transguys who inject. Beard growth is determined by genetics. Testosterone will give someone with low levels the ability to grow a beard, but the hair distribution can range from patchy to full, just like without the extra hormones.

I can report I had an encounter with said friend and the T shots work amazingly. ..|:gogirl:*|*:sex:(*8*)

Taking hormones simply to have the option of shaving? No doctor in his right mind would script you any, much less without testing your T levels anyway.

Be careful what you wish for. Higher testosterone males have much higher incidences of male pattern baldness and prostate cancers. So you may need to shave, but be a chrome-dome in the process.

Why don't you use a marker and draw fake hair. How about using a fake beard like santa claus or teenwolf?

…A while back, I read a chapter from an Augusten Burroughs memoir detailing his use of hormones …

I wouldn't trust him. He's got a fake name; he told lies in his advertising career and everyone is saying his 'memoirs' are fiction.

Having a thicker beard has always been an obsession with a lot of men. I too have thought about it. From my chin to my neck, I'm completely covered down to my toes...but my face almost has none. After reading about so many depression and complications of taking testosterone, I'd rather not deal with it.

A change in hormones changes a lot in us, sometime it is not worth it.
