I was hired on the spot for target and wal-mart at the same time. And i took target because it was newer im banned for a year for turning wal-mart down. I quit target recently i applied for sears and i think the lady hired me she said if she calls again then Shes interested and she call 10 mins after i left for a second interview. The only problem with sears you have to sell credit cards when your a cashier. I think im going to work there until i get experience and apply at the the new wal-mart when its done being built

They didn't make you pee in a cup? I'm not shifty and I've always been asked to do so. Maybe employers just want my urine...

My first teaching job out of college was at a small, inner-city Catholic school. When I went in for the interview with the principal, we talked for about 15 minutes and then she just said, "Well, do you want the job? It's yours if you want it!"

It was a really good place to gain teaching experience. I always look back on those first two years there (before going to the public schools) fondly. :D

Target had a pesky interview process where I had to meet with 3 different team leads, except I got hired after two meetings.

When I switched to Walgreens I got hired on the spot (after I filled out the application, of course). I think a lot of times it is better to meet with actual people than being a little name in a computer database. It's easier to make a connection and mesh with people.

A year and a half later and I'm still going strong! ..|

I was hired on the spot for my current job. I went in and said I'd like to apply. The store manager talked with me for about 10 minutes. "Good, when can you start... oh and we have this pesky application you have to do first."

When I applied at the sex shop for security position was hired on the spot. (actually started working 2 hours after he hired me)

Toys'R'Us was hired on the spot after filling out an app in the store.

The print shop hired me immediately.

I've always been able to make an impression with people I guess.

Although I did apply at Home Depot once and got turned down for the position... I was and still am extremely perplexed by this. I have a drafting degree and am fully versed in construction drawings and project estimating and all that jazz... and thats essentially the position they were hiring for and was turned down.

LMAO the guy was even surprised I recognized that the drawing they showed me wouldn't pass code in our region for the deck. "That's the first time anyone has ever noticed that."
"in fact the only region in which that draft would pass code would be in the southern region where there is no significant ground freeze."
:rotflmao: *shrug* their loss, Walgreen's gain

Home Depot is a joke then been hiring over here for 6 months. And i know millions of people who applied and they wont even give anyone an interview. I called them up dozens of times and the lady either not there or i hear the same line were are currently reviewing applications

I agree with you. But i like how Target and sears and other stores have the on spot interviews. Why did you left target?

Yeppers. I was hired on the spot at my first job, being a tour guide at a 222 year old plantation.

I was offered the position on the spot at FYE three years ago, but skipped my first day of orientation to interview with Old Navy. SOOOO GLAD I DID. I'm a manager now!! w00t!

Yes I have, my dad is high up in the company so it was fairly easy. :-p

Yes, I have

It is a good feeling when it happens.

I've actually gotten hired without filling out an application or even meeting the owner of the company. It was as a taxi driver.

Sort of. I got a contract from a summer camp at a job faire after a short interview. Was great! I was so surprised, since I didn't expect to get one at all, let alone be given one on the spot after a five-minute interview...

Yes.

Back in college I was hired on the spot at that prestigious purveyor of fine meats and cheeses, 'Hickory Farms'.

Don't laugh. [-X

In a college town where there were about 1,000 part time jobs for the 10,000 students looking for them, this was quite the achievement, let me tell you.

I walked into the store, my head held high and I asked to speak with the manager. "Why should I hire you ?", he barked.

"Because", I replied, "I'm eager to work any hours and my positive work ethic will really standout amid all these other apathetic losers looking for this position !"

With that, I grinned my best, wholesome, all-American smile, (boy, this *was* a long time ago...) and asked when he would like to start, adding that this afternoon would be just fine.

Within an hour I was donning a red apron and slicing up the Havarti.

It must have been clear to him that I knew my beefstick from my cheese balls. ;)
