Have you ever been in a police identification line-up?

IMPORTANT: In order to avoid potential embarrassment, please don't respond if you were an actual suspect in the line-up unless you are comfortable with it. This question is intended only for those who were asked by the police to participate in the line-up because you bore a vague resemblance to the suspect.

Back in the early 70s, when I was attending Trent University, I was in the Bata Library one day, looking up books for exam study. I was standing at the shelves, skimming through a textbook, when I heard a voice say something like, "I think he'll do."

Next thing I know, 2 police officers are standing beside me asking if I would participate in a line-up. They assured me that I wouldn't end up in jail if I was selected. I thought it would be an interesting experience and said 'yes', but then discovered that I had a scheduled exam at the same time as the line-up.

That's the closest I ever came. How about you?

I had to give a deposition on a few occasions but never in a line-up.

No and if requested to be in one I would refuse and if a demand was made bring the case before the Crown.

Did you get paid some cash to do it?

It was 40 years ago. I don't remember if there was cash involved.

No. That would be creepy. But I've been on jury duty about 14 times.

No. I look very "distinctive". Nobody ever mistakes me for someone else, and everybody recognizes me if they've met me before. Which sucks because I don't recognize anyone.
