Also I don't think a person with a lot of sex partners is a slut. Sex is one of the most wonderful things in life. Some people prefer to share it with one person only, some with as many as possible.

Actually, I've read that gay men have an average of 3 times the number of partners as heterosexuals. I would be good with that, except for the higher health risks involved. When I hear about someone with a high score, sometimes I think they're adventurous, and sometimes I worry about their health, or their attention span.

But no; I don't think it is shameful or something to lie about.

As for me, I'm very focussed, so the number is low. I said "no" a lot before I met my guy. Not to everything, I'll definitely cop to fooling around with a couple of guys (and I once felt a boobie), but basically anything that two men can do together I've only ever done all the way with my one and only.

I've never been tempted to lie about the numbers... sometimes wished it were higher, but it's such a nice round number (33) that I find it easy to cop to.

Actually, the only reason I know that number is because, in early sobriety, I listed them out as a part of a Fourth Step exercise. It took me a while, and some thinking about what constitutes sex... I mean, only twice did I have an orgasm, and in some cases I wasn't even conscious for the whole thing... but I think I got them all. If I had to write that list today, I doubt I'd remember so much... it's been thirteen years since I wrote that list, fourteen since I added to it, so a lot of forgetting has happened since.

The sad thing is that only about half of them I could remember their names, all I had was a place or a circumstance, and only three or four of them I actually liked. So much effort for so little enjoyment... what a waste of time and energy.
