Have you ever proposed to girl?

no but seriously did thought about it. There was this girl that I was so deeply in love with.

She was having problems with her family (she lives in chicago) and the whole time I really wanted to bring her to me so I can take care of her for the rest of her life...

Anyway, she didn't need me. She settled things with her family, got another boyfriend, and now very very rare would she call me. She will though when she need a person to talk to and share her problems.

That was last year. I almost thought I've gotten married at age 20, I am so glad I didn't. My life is still too long to be played with.

heh - I had a couple of those too. relationships are like that. learn from it and move on. I spent too much time being bitter about it and all it did is result in my dick staying dry for a few months. men and women cheat when they are young. it is how it is. dont be in a hurry to get married: enjoy your youth, have fun, and play safe.
 
I was engaged for 4 months, to a girl i had been seeing for close to 2 yrs. probably only did because she was my first 'real' love. luckily i found about her "promiscuity" relatively soon after... crushed me.

I am really very glad that it ended. i am much happier with my current relationship. =]

Four years ago, I almost proposed to a family friend. She was a teacher and had a lot in common. Told my family I was going to propose to this girl and they were for it. A few days later, found out she was a very religous person and I am total not. I didn't ask her and to this day, haven't talk to her.

Yup - I did that - was pretty dumb

figured out not long thereafter that it wouldn't work

and got out of it

caused some pain for her - and I regret that
 
In August of 2002 my ex and I were celebrating our two year anniversary.

A month before, I had gone to Tiffany's and got a ring. I was intent on marrying her.

Well, we spent a week together in New York. The last day was our anniversary.

Something didn't feel right. I don't think it was cold feet, rather the reality of how things would be between the two of us 20 years down the road.

So I didn't propose. I returned the ring and bought a car. I think I got the better end of the deal.

She found out years later what was planned and couldn't understand why I didn't go through with it. Yeah, she's a bit dense.
