^ I like that kind of Belgian waffle (gaufre liègeois in French, Luikse wafel in Flemish) best without any toppings at all. Just the pearl sugar that's in the dough, caramelized on the grill, is enough.

I have always had a sweet tooth, but the last few years I have cut back on eating sugar. When I'm food shopping, I always check the sugar content before buying it. And I eat desserts on a rare occasion. Recently, I went to a neighbor's home, and she made these amazing individual Pavlova's for us. They were so yummy and totally worth the sugar.
