but why I didn't go for that? I think it's a matter of nostalgia taste..like I'm not really feel caravan home-extension life..so that's why I dont go there. Although caravan life is more realistic and have nicer R values.

Honestly..this shed plan is giving me so much lyfe right now. I'm serious and really into this.

Rarebuoy caught my adventurous teenage spirit in this, he's right on that. Second is profit reason, not because I'm desperate or what because if I'm desperate with my mortgage, I'll sleep in my garage inhaling smokes from my car.
No, I want to have a nice living inside my shed! ^^

I will buy a loft bed (not bunk bed), fitting in and having the upper bed adjacent to gambrel roof of my wood shed, feeling like I'm sleeping on the attic or a treehouse, the feeling I always want to recreate since I was a little.

But..I think I would postpone further this idea.
So good luck for haters I won't do this anytime soon because some challenge/disadvantage.

1. I have to find tenant cool enough with this lifestyle..which is kind of hard/difficult.
2. The foundation At first glance..I was looking at shed without its foundation the entire time.
My backyard soil is pretty uneven with slopes everywhere, take lots of job

Well then, take your time and do it right.

Increase your budget.

Make some plans for a lasting structure slowly, bit by bit.

Start by planning electrics and plumbing. Research your local codes. A good contractor will help.

Begin by pouring a real foundation.

Then think about buying a shipping container (2k?) or a yurt or building some small structure that isn't garbage.

You can do this, but doing it by building something habitable will make your adventure sustainable over the long run.

Actually, Harke makes the best suggestion of all. The camper trailer would be about 50% bigger but could still be parked in your yard in the same location as the shed. It's all wired and would have propane heat and cooling, along with a small bathroom.

You can have a trailer on your property. But you can not live in it. And if you have it plugged into house power and it catches the house on fire, your insurance will not cover it. So, kiss your house goodbye.

And with the surfeit of dreamers trying to escape the rat race, people in the know are even becoming tight-lipped about it.

Here you can live in it, but only if it's parked inside a permanent structure -- which is bizarre. You used to be able to live in one if it was on a concrete pad, anchored, with proper hookups, but they out a stop to that; existing setups can still be sued but if you stop, you can't do it again.

Oddly, here if you have a camper -- the things that sits in a pickup bed -- and it causes a fire, you're covered, but if it's a trailer (which counts as a "vehicle" under Oregon law), you're not covered.

Yeah, I loved it when the county commissioners helped homeless people here get trailers so they'd have housing, and then the state went and passed some regulation that requires trailers to be in "authorized areas", which boils down to places where you have to pay rent to be there, or some recreation areas where you can only stay fourteen days. If the F-ing state would leave us alone, we could solve our problems, but they continually add laws and regulations that at root are all about money (like the recent law about "careless driving": now, ANY accident, even with no property damage or injury, and ANY ticket, is now defined as "careless driving" automatically -- in other words, they've taken mere violations and turned them automatically into a crime... which I call double jeopardy).

This is supposed to be government of the people, by the people, and for the people, but it's becoming government of some people by people who live somewhere else for the wealthy people.

I say get on google and do some searches for "Tiny House". A properly built shed could be used as one of those.

The tiny house is my dream come true ^^ but it's the same like I'm buying new car instead.. $45.000-$50.000 $$$$

$45.000-$50.000 seems really high Should be able to do it for allot less.
But all depends on 'how big' / 'how fancy' / 'how house-like' .. and ofcourse how much you can do yourself!

The more simplified the more you'll cut the cost, and even more-so, the more you can do yourself the more you'll cut the cost.

I've thought about doing something tiny house-ish .. not to 'live' in, but more as a summer cabin type thing (basically so I can still enjoy going to the mountains, but instead of sleeping in a tent, have a nice comfortable/safe place )
My thoughts are basically to build what for 'legal purposes' would be called a shed, but it'd be built more like you would a house (a very simplified one-room thing, (basically just a bedroom)...no bathroom or kitchen stuff - and would be fully insulated plus drywalled on the inside). If I did any light inside, it'd be solar powered.

No idea what it'd cost, but probably wouldn't be all that bad - maybe a couple grand?, especially since I'd be the one doing the building.
Whether anything ever happens or not I have no idea..its simply something I would *like* to do

Yeah, if you buy a pre-built one. If you're the DYI type it supposedly has been done for $8000.

I really wouldn't recommended doing you're own plumbing or electrical though. You're asking for loads of trouble if you're dumb enough to do either of those.

What dunderheads we all are, to be sure! The solution has been staring us in the face all along. I remember hearing about the network of underground passages in Seattle years ago. Just put up a little shed, go in there with a shovel and tunnel your way into the hidden city below the streets. Stuff all the soil you remove into a bag, stick it up your jumper and let it dribble out in the park as you walk the dog. Nobody will be any the wiser. Wikipedia says most of it's closed off for safety reasons so you'll have the place to yourself.
