  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Have you ever taken drugs??

Some years back, about 5 now, I used to take pain killers and wash them down with Vodka - but that was when my life was a real mess - all of that got my close to suicide, but a good friend picked me up, dusted me off, and set me straight. Now from time to time I drink a beer or a mixed drink, but that's it! No pot, E, Crack, Crank, Smack, Jellies, Whistler, Screaming Bungholes, or whatever it's all called.

I smoked marihuana in 1984 and fellow worker offered cocaine and I did not accept it. I decided to smoke anymore,

No, but it's always been my plan to try almost everything once so I know how I feel about it and if I ever have kids, I'll have a legitimate opinion on it. My friend recently tripped on acid and after decribing it and how it's changed his perspective on life, I'm curious.

Nope. I've never done any drug other than caffeine

^lol
never really had a desire to... though people do often tell me that i should drink or smoke something so they can explain some of my excentricities lol

i would hate to be so closed minded that i would never be willing to try them.

Sorry but that is a comment that I find slightly objectionable. You are not "closed minded" because you have decided not to take drugs, nor even to try them out once just to experience the effects on yourself.

I have never felt the need for artificial stimulants to increase my enjoyment in a given situation. I would rather be aware and in control.

Obviously it is evident that I am anti-drug but people make their own choices in life and therefore have the consequences to deal with. Unfortunately when it becomes drug abuse we others are effected as well.

Remember that drug purchase for personal and occasional recreational use may seem harmless but you are supporting a complete industry which causes suffering and crime worldwide.

So smoke your occasional joint and whilst doing it feel proud that you are supporting dealers who associated with organised crime commit the most horrible atrocities possible.

OMG! please step down from the podium, and go smoke a joint and relax a bit....

Many years ago I was heavily into pot and LSD. That phase only lasted about four years, until I got bored with being stoned all the time.

I thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted, but I have no desire to do it again. My only regret is that I never had sex under the influence, since I was in the closet in those days.

I have smoked pot...but not for many years.

Now I am addicted to watching "Intervention" on A&E...I feel that I can live vicariously through the meth, crack, alchohol, LSD and other substances that those people are addicted to...I have personally been to an intervention for a family member and it is sobering...it truly is, for everyone.

I do not judge people...if their choice is drugs, alcohol, whatever...we all have our vices.

Why is it when you express a firm conviction about a subject someone just has to post an objectionable comment about your opinion.

Stating firmly their disagreement with your position/arguments would be totally acceptable but I do find it slightly offensive, even on an Internet forum, to be treated as a preacher and uptight; which seem to be the normal insults when arguing from a weak position.

Well got that of my chest. ;)

Now just wondering if I am the only person who believes that buying drugs, even in small quantities is encouraging organised crime.

Started occasional pot use late in life - after college. Haven't done it in YEARS. Tried coke with a friend once - didn't like it - just made my arms tingle. Don't even do much alcohol at all - smallest amounts give me nasty headaches the next day. That's it for me!

Nope ... apart from cigarettes and alcohol. Gave up the cigs about six years ago and I've never been a heavy drinker.

I'll admit - drugs and alcohol got the better of me......Had to finally get help. It's been about 10 years now - I can't profess as well as RL did......I still have the very odd ONE "Dinner-drink", and I do smoke a little Pot - but rarely. Which does break all the rules, I know RL - please don't beat me......but at least I have learned and do control it now, instead of it controlling me. ..|
