Yep! A few times. First time to Italy was a week on an ocean liner (SS Raffaello https://www.greatoceanliners.com/ss-raffaello ) from New York City to Naples. Then we drove up the coast to Rome. Traveled around Europe for another couple weeks, before heading to a conference in London. Our parents sent us kids to stay with friends in Ireland. I was 15, almost 16, on that particular trip.

I've taken care of other's dogs, but only for very short periods (a day at most, and usually just an evening feeding). I have a sense, though, that I might have done more than a day when caring for a neighbor's baby chickens and ducks. (The ducks were cute. Unfortunately, they didn't survive, due to some wild predator. 
)

Hmmm ... There were two piranhas, but I never tried to pet them. The iguana was kinda cool. Other than that, just the usual cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, etc., etc.

An ants nest in a jam jar when I was a boy! 
I thought it was so cool, but I was wrong. They got out, and crawled all over my bedroom!! It’s ok, they got exterminated, and I haven’t kept any since then.

No, but I've only used deadbolt locks the last 20+ years, which require a key to lock.
