Have you ever...

Yes, it has happened several times.

Have you ever reached a time in your life when you felt "lost," like you just didn't know what you were doing or what was happening to you, or why?

I had to take a year of Spanish in college, but I certainly don't think I'm fluent in it. When I hear the local Cubans talking, I can occasionally pick out a word or two, but I don't understand the gist of what they're saying. My Mother compelled me to take a semester of French so her night class could meet, but I know even less of that language.

OK, this is silly. Have you ever taken any of Belamo's Spanish (or German) posts, and copied and pasted them into google translate? (I can hardly understand some of his "English" posts).

No, I don't think I've seriously considered it, though I have wondered if I should do it if things get worse. There have been times that I've exchanged PMs with other members discussing the actions of three or four of the usual suspects. The most I've actually done is to stop reading certain threads when I see that someone that's irritating me has posted there. I have pretty much decided there's no point in posting in the ugly argument threads when they flare up. That's not why I'm here.

Have you ever reported someone on JUB to the mods?

No, I've never been banned on JUB, though I once had a story I posted on the Gay Stories forum deleted because I didn't clearly specify a character I meant to be roughly in his late teens was of age. I resubmitted it, specifying he was 18. Picky, picky.

Have you ever been banned on Facebook, Twitter, or any similar social media site?

No

Have you ever met someone who later became a celebrity? (well sort of...)

He is from St. Louis. As a teenager, he worked in a coffee shop very close to where I lived.
I used to buy coffee from Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter.

Have you ever been to the theater?

Yes. What kind of theater? Movie theater? Sure. Been to the San Francisco Opera, also.

Have you ever been robbed?

No

Have you ever gotten into squabbles with other posters on JUB?

[squabbles with other JUB posters[

I try to avoid those here. There have been a couple of times I've been attacked, such as the time I posted a positive opinion in favor transgender people. It became clear to me that those others had no interest in any kind of open discussion. I debated responding to those posters, but decided it was better to let the thread die than for it to be a forum for hostile and hateful rhetoric.

I have since decided that it's better to avoid getting involved in those overwrought flare-ups that tend to break out in the Hot Topics forum, where there's a lot of heat but no light. I'm all for a RESPECTFUL discussion of topics and views-- I guess like the Phil Donahue shows of the 80s and 90s-- but the post-and-respond format of JUB or especially social media sites like Facebook don't seem to be conducive to that.

Then again I recall having exchanges with belamo in the past, when I realize I've been going back-and-forth with him over some objection he had about an old Dusty Springfield or Cher video I posted or something. These days I sort of take an attitude of detached bemusement.

[NYC]

No, I've never been to New York. I was visiting a cousin who lives on the Delaware/Maryland border once, and was planning to go to Richmond to visit my other cousin. When I got in my rental car I realized I could be in Philadelphia in 30 minutes or New York in 2 hours, or probably even hit Montreal by the end of the day, and certainly any point in the Northeast. If I had been in my more spontaneous teens or twenties I probably would have done it.

Have you ever been to Florida? Would you live there?

I've never been to Florida , I wouldn't live there

Have you ever been married ?
