Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Burj Dubai, world's tallest building...

and then some!

Ridley Scott could remake "Blade Runner" here without using any special effects.

Except maybe for the flying cars. I guess they're on order.

1. What % of that was built with greenbacks?

2. Now, about those starving children in Appalachia !

3. What are the odds of a jet plane crashing into that building?

Just goes to show. . .

Those who have, flaunt.

Here are a few more interesting nighttime shots:

Looks very impressive.

But i don't like a city with NO trees !!!

Funny thing is the city itself will become a desert after all the oil dries up.

That's why they've been switching to a commercial, real estate, business, and tourist economy. Their oil is expected to dry up within 20 years.

Planning ahead!!..|

I'd like to claim ownership of that skyscraper,
third from the left...

I think I've paid for that one over the course of my lifetime
through the gas and oil I've put into my various cars...

If they want the city to be successful.
They must give people alot of freedom like the US or Europe.

Built with money stolen from us with the aide of the idiot environmentalist nuts who have stopped us from getting our own oil.

^ True Telstra. I would go there if people had rights.

Also, indoor skiing is beyond lame. Nothing beats fresh snow, crisp air and an icy breeze going down a real mountain.

but indoor stuff in any country is artificial !!!
Example: inside any building.

don't know about stolen.
The US and aust use too much oil anyway. Time to cut down the waste.

1. I'd guess a majority of it. China has recently been buying a lot of oil, however.

2. Maybe they make donations to charities? I don't know.

3. They don't have fog, I'm guessing, but they do have sandstorms that could cut visibility severely enough.
I don't think a jet can fly for long in one, though.

In those pics it looks alright, but that place lacks personality big time... I won't be going back there any time soon that's for sure, not unless someone's forcing me... and paying for all of my expenses.

Yeah, The streets with little or no traffic and the lack of pedestrians is a bit creepy.

Thank you. I didn't know they had the largest water fountain show. Obviously their goal is to have the largest everything. What better way to bring the tourists and help them part with their money?
